The ferry stations of Kadikoy is one of the most used places for hanging out if someone is waited to meet or to feel the view of Istanbul in an central urban region. There are various activities can be seen near that place but people mostly read newspaper or a book while having snacks, watching landscape, chilling and talking with friends, family members, plays music on devices.

RESULTS AND CONCEPT Meeting & Waiting Stops Finding 1: People wait for someone around ferry ports. Requirement 1: Therefore people need a designed piece to wait near ferry ports. Finding 2: Waiting people for a meeting are busy with these followings: looking at their phones, looking around, walking around, reading newspapers or book, drinking sth., smoking and eating snacks. Requirement 2: They need something to fill their empty time while waiting. Finding 3: Kad覺k繹y is a disctrict being very interested in literature, poetry and art (especially street poetry and art). Requirement 3: Thus people in Kad覺k繹y waiting around for a reason, may need a special place to find out these sorts of activities being easy to reach. Finding 4: Some people that already meet with their friends may see places walking around and they generally making conversations while sitting, on foot, drinking tea or coffee or smoking. Requirement 4: That means they are also in an activity and may search a place to have a conversation. Conclusion: People waiting for a reason around ferry ports somehow want to fill their empty periods and they may be attracted by a new place where serves them pieces from literature or art while they are lonely or having converstaion with their friends.

Seyr-i Keyf is a designed product for urban life around Kad覺k繹y ferry-stations being able to be applied approximately anywhere having iron fences.
The product set has seating unit, drink or snack cup holder and newspaper storage inspired by the people who leaves their newspaper after reading for another person to read.
On the process of creating design and its form, the linear lines at The design is an outcome of mostly mutual acts serving sitting windows and fences, their Art Deco and Art Nouveau style, of the together or alone, having fun during drinking or reading newspaper historical/ vintage Kad覺k繹y houses or buildings and it is adapted to and a unit to be used while waiting for someone. minimal line by using standard equipments in industry to emphasize that era and its industrialization logic.

The product is another piece of the set being not related directly but it is designed to be used as a meeting point and a stop to rest in sunny days or a big umbrealla in rainy days. It also has verious colours as well. The product is born accoring to the observations and analysis based on users and user researches. It has been said that sometimes it is very hard to meet around ferry stations, especially you do not know this place well.

There are few color options representing Kadikoy’s convinient and lively life. The colors are also choosen to create a feeling of selection and initial emotional link with the seating unit.
It’s observed that colour choices of users depending on psychological situations according to Aksu. (That part is aforementioned at the last page of the presentation.)

USAGE AND DETAILS MATERIAL SELECTIONS: Square section steel tube (Black paint coated) Structural Steel Tube can be used for a wide variety of mechanical applications. MATERIAL SELECTIONS: Polycarbonate (on Seating surface and cup holder.) Polycarbonate is a durable material. Although it has high impact-resistance, it has low scratch-resistance and so a hard coating is applied to polycarbonate eyewear lenses and polycarbonate exterior automotive components. The characteristics of polycarbonate are quite like those of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA, acrylic), but polycarbonate is stronger and usable over a greater temperature range. Polycarbonate is highly transparent to visible light, with better light transmission than many kinds of glass.construction, automotive, appliance, furniture and agricultural industries since it is very strength and durable to mechnaical hazards.

People’s tendency is quite high range about leaving newspapers after reading as a personal observation during studying on this project. The newspaper holder is also required since people read it by standing the fences. Also buffets around ferry stations sell newspaper but there is no place to reuse them. The product solves this problem and lead the user to have more fun next to sea while reading. The storage is made of steel parts which is cut and bended. It is also mounted with screws and nuts to the fences.
