The ergonomically designed driver’s seat offers a nearly infinite range of adjustments so you can find the sweet spot for your command. Rear seat passengers can simply lean back and relax in the 26-degree tilted backrest and enjoy generous space for legs, shoulders and imaginations.

Volvo Navigation System (VNS) with RTT (Real Time Traffic)* Volvo’s GPS-based VNS navigation system is totally integrated with your car. It offers both voice guidance and graphic navigation all the way to your destination. Via TMC (Traffic Message Channel) radio data broadcasts, VNS also lets you know if there’s traffic or weather-related trouble en route and recommends an alternative. The VNS system is easily controlled from the steering wheel or a remote, and the screen is positioned so you can keep your attention on traffic. Volvo's navigation system includes Map Care which provides two map data updates at no charge. *Maps do not cover all areas or all routes within an area. Integrated Bluetooth® handsfree system Bluetooth® technology enables a mobile phone to be connected to the infotainment system in your Volvo – wirelessly. Once configured for a mobile phone, the system automatically recognizes your phone as you enter the car. You then operate your phone using the buttons in the steering wheel. As you climb in and out of the car, the system automatically allows you to switch freely from the phone to the handsfree system and back again. Every car has a sensitive side. This car has two. Top up or down, the stiff car body enables the advanced suspension system to sense and predictably cope with different types of road surfaces. The chassis takes advantage of this high-torsion rigidity to convey both balanced handling and comfortable cruising. At the same time, the informative electro-hydraulic steering puts you in touch with the road and responds immediately to your guidance, while the rear wheels turn slightly to give this car even greater virtue in corners.

As a coupe, the steel roof provides a quiet and cosy environment in any climate—thanks to first-class upholstery, multi-layer insulation and a glass rear window (heated). The Volvo C70 offers 7-14 cu/ft. of luggage space depending on whether the top is up or down. To get to the trunk more easily when the top is down, Volvo provides a trunk load assist. In a frontal collision the patented frontal structure will yield to help absorb crash energy, while longitudinal steel struts in the doors helps disperse crash energy away from the front to the rear of the car. The compact power train is designed to help optimize deformation. Inside the car, seat belts interact with the collapsible steering column and multi-stage airbags to help keep the occupants out of harm’s way. A steel strut under the dashboard helps prevent components in the engine bay from intruding into the cabin.

In a roll-over the Roll-Over Protection System (ROPS) activates the seat belt pre-tensioners at all seats to help keep occupants more securely restrained. The Door Mounted Inflatable Curtain (DMIC) deploys to help provide head protection and help keep the occupants inside the cabin. Additionally, the safety cage is reinforced to help keep the passenger compartment intact.

In a side impact Volvo’s unique Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) helps protect the occupants. Emission controls All Volvo engines comply with stringent international environmental requirements. The catalytic converter is positioned to provide optimum exhaust conversion sooner after cold starting. Low emission interior To ensure that you and your passengers are not exposed to harmful emissions or unpleasant odors, we test individual upholstery and interior trim items as well as complete interiors in the Volvo Environmental Laboratory in Sweden. All upholstery materials and interior textiles also comply with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 – an international benchmark for human ecological safety of textiles. All leathers are tanned by a process that only uses vegetable or synthetic substances instead of chromium. CWT '" High Performance optional or accessory wheel and tire combination is designed for sporty and responsive handling on dry pavement, and also helps resist hydroplaning on wet roads. The low sidewalls may make this wheel/tire combination somewhat more susceptible to road hazard damage and offer a slightly firmer ride. Depending on road conditions and driving style, the high performance composition of the tires may result in somewhat shorter tread life than ordinary tires. It is important to regularly check inflation pressure to help reduce the chance of tire, rim or vehicle damage. If the vehicle is driven in cold, snowy, or icy conditions, Volvo recommends the use of a suitable winter tire and wheel combination that helps provide better traction under those circumstances.
