MEASURED DRAWING OF A CROISSANT How to draw a Croissant? Croissant is a three dimensional object therefor can not be traced directly. In order to draw it in scale, the procedure generally divided in three steps.
(a.) Photo of elevation
(b.) Photo of plan view
Step1: Take photos of corissant in different views.
Step 2: Scan the bottom of the croissant and three sections. This step is important to draw the corissant in scale. Because the scan view of the bottom has the same scale as the realistic croissant.
(c.) Photo of elevation
(d.) Scan view of three sections
(e.) scan view of the bottom
(f.) Pen drawing
Step 3: Draw two lines at the two terminations of the bottom view and extend. Use photoshop to drag the photos in sacle and touch croissant’s two terminations to the extended lines. Therefore the croissants on photos have the same size as the corssant in realistic life. Arrange all photos in the paper. Put tracing paper over the fianl plan and use tape to fix it. The croissant finally can be traced.
(h.) Final anottated plan, extended lines determine the scale of the corissant.
(g.) Pencil drawing
2
Draw croissant in 3D: 1.Scan the sections 2.Indicate cut lines in plan view 3.Retrace three sections and set up 10x10 grid on then, mark intersection points between outline of section and gride. 4.Arrange plan view at 45 degrees. Using the section cut lines on the plan as a guide to project lines upwards every 10mm apart. then draw lines at 45 degrees at 10mm apart vertically to construct a grid the same as the section. 5.Using the sections as a guide mark on the intersection points. 6. Join all the points to indicate sections. 7.Join all the sections

NEW MARIO WORLD
The new Mario world demonstrates the combinations of elements from different games, including pokemon, monument vally and other mario worlds. In order to create a new world of games.
Character in Pokemon: Mole. The concept of mixing mario world with other games.
Block elements in other Mario world
Two basic sections
Coconut tree (a.) Front section of the Mario world
Stairs in monument vally. (b.) Back section of the Mario world
Chomp plan, the classic element of Mario world.
5
Materials used: TSquare, set square, 0.1 Fineliner, 0.4 Fineliner, pencils, ruler, masking tape
Make 2D mario world in to 3D. Two sections go through this process separately.
Final scan view of two section . In this scan view, two sections have been joined properly.

PAPER LANDSCAPE Final Work of the paper landscape. This work trying to show the gradually change of the density of patterns on the the surface denpend on the original lanscape trend. The lanscape has wave shape, the high density of patterns are mainly placed at the relatively high region of the landscape, low density of the patterns are placed at the low region. In this way the gap between 2 dimensional ground and 3 simentional patterns are blured.

One finished column of the model.
(a.) Unrolled model
Annotated model in Rhino.

The original landscape. The wave shape landscape transform from high region to low region fluently.
Plan of ground. This plan shows the change of landscape in 2 dimensional way. It is an experiment and has been rejected and replaced by simpler square pattern in the final model.
Three basic blocks. Final model consists these three basic model.
Back of the model. All pieces are annotated.
Model of the landscape. In this step, basic blocks has already been put on landscape.

INVISIBLE CITY
[Hidden city 2: Raissa] In general Raissa is divided into two parts, one part is happy city and the other part is depressive city. The depressive things happen all the time in daily life but happy things still occationally happens. These two part of city does not aware the existence of eachother. At this point, the two part of the city can be explained as two parallel universes with different time loop. Macro Polo exist in the third time loop, so he can aware the existence of both city and hang around them to witness everythings happen in this city in every minutes. He can see what happens in the future, in the moment and in the past.
Scale: 1:50
10
Perspective one: The first scene Marco Polo see when enter the city. Under the light, most obuvious things are the figures on the right side. They represent the pressive side of the city. They are arguring, cursing and unhappy. On the left side, under shardow, happy things happen silently. Birds appears in both perspectives, as a bridge to connect two worlds.
11
Perspective two: The scecond scene Marco Polo see. Happy side of the city hide under the
shardow at the inconspicuous region. A series of things happens as described in article. “...a dog that has jumped on a shed to bite into a piece of polenta dropped by a stonemason who has shouted from the top of the scaffolding, “Darling, let me dip into it,” to a young serving maid who holds up a dish of ragout under the pergola, happy to serve it to the umbrella-maker who is celebrating a successful transaction,...” Birds appears again, they indicate that the time are irrelevant in these two worlds as they keep the same position and movement.

REFLECTION
From this subject in this semester, I learned the basic knowledge about how to edit and create image or model by software. Including Indesign, AI, photoshop and Rhino. In lectures and readings, I have opportunity to know a lot of professional and interesting ideas in several aspects. Representation skill also improved as every module contains a representation at the end. Module summaries: Module 1: Skills learned: Use photoshop to annotate grapes and arrange them. Draw 3 dimensional picture from 2 dimensional picture Trace a 3 dimensional object in scale Improvement: The edge of the croissant can be more fluent by using erase tool in photoshop Pencil drawing and pen drawing can be more detailed. Module 2: Skill learned: Use AI to trace the picture and apply colour. Improvement: The Skill of using Ai. Such as using gradually change colour to show dimensions of mountains in the world. (I apply the pattern directly result in the flatness of the mountain) The idea could be improved. Such as the stairs from monument valley can be closer in shape and colour in the original colour. The space can be vertically up and add more details in. The whole world should have a theme colour.
(a) Seconde perspective view in lines
All the figures should in scale. Module 3: Skill learned: Use Rhino to establish 3 dimensional model. Improvement: The blocks can arrange in to more complex pattern and create a more harmony surface. Use curve attractor The lines and annotated signs can be lighter in colour. Module 4: Skill learned: Put figures in 3 dimensional model Improvement: More details can be added in to perspectives of views. Such as decoration and texture of the columns. (When making 2D of my final model, I accidently lock the block lines, which result in the texture of columns and roof can not be apllied.)
