what was the purpose of this event? This bonding event was to help the incoming freshmen get situated with key club and help them make friends before school starts. The officers and members who attended, got to meet their new Kiwanis advisor, Ms. Kaye Biggs. Members played icebreaker games such as Hangman and Skribbl.io. The rest of the time was spent on working on artwork.

“what were your thoughts about the arts and crafts event?” “The arts and crafts event was a great way to meet the members of the Key Club community and learn their roles. The activity helped to pass time during quarantine. It also let me find out about the interests and hobbies of the other key club members.” -Hannan Beiken

“Even though I didn’t really bond with people, I still thought that the event was pretty fun. We played Hangman, Skribbl.io, and drew. What I liked the most was Skribbl.io because I got to see really great drawings from everyone. My second favorite part from the event was the drawing because I got to see a really good drawing of a polar bear and even the process of it being drawn as well.” -Wesley To

Cheer up the elderly! SInce COVID-19 hit, senior citizens are lonely and need some joy. Just one letter can make their day! Write a letter or draw something for them! This event ends July 6th.

Why should you participate in Free Rice? You can earn 15 service hours by playing Free Rice AND help donate money for food to hungry people with the help of the World Food Programme and their ad revenue.

maybe you can... ❏ Educate yourself! Educate yourself on the social injustices currently happening. You can read books or credible news articles or listen to informative podcasts. During quarantine, is a great time to learn about things you might have not known about before. ❏ Talk to your friends! Although you are social distancing, that doesn’t mean you can’t text or call to check in with your friends. Surrounding yourself with positive energy is fantastic to combat the lonely feelings you get during isolation. ❏ Practice self care! Quarantine is the time and place to take care of yourself! Put on a face mask or make some cookies to relax. It’s a scary time but we’ll get through this together :D
