Join us as at our Monthly Golden Brunch Club! Each meetings objective will be to provide helpful monthly workshops & seminars for seniors, those who are “senior adjacent”, supporting, assisting or looking out for the seniors in their lives! Refreshments, coffee, tea and sodas will be provided. These are FREE events, but you MUST register to attend this event. Register online or register at the front desk no later than 1 week prior to event date.

Volunteer Options for Seniors

If you love to help others then this is the seminar for you! Volunteering can sometimes feel overwhelming when you don’t understand how to get started or even how YOU personally can help - so we are coming to you! Interfaith Community Partners, Downers Grove Township/FFDG, & FISH food Pantry, Indian Prairie Library, Community Adult Day Center & The Community House as we go over some amazing opportunities to volunteer locally, in your own community as an Adult/ Senior. These organizations will be onsite to explain organizations history, mission and future goals. We will detail the different ways you can help, what is needed to become a volunteer, each organizations expectations as you begin your volunteering journey and more!

Estate Planning 101

This presentation will discuss the basic elements of a good estate plan, such as a trust, a will, and powers of attorney. We will also address why these documents are important, both in the event of incapacity and after death. The estate planning process is about taking control of your decisions and providing an easy transition of assets to your loved ones. You will leave informed about the issues to consider and the questions to ask as you undertake this process.

ReThink Retirement

ReThink Retirement will explore the options seniors have as they age. Staying home and possibly bringing in a caregiver is one, downsizing to a smaller space, going to a rental community, moving in with family, or possibly considering a retirement living community. Attendees will learn the pros and cons of each option. Discussion will include the cost of health care and how to protect your assets against the high cost of future care. Come join us and build a plan!
