PLAY. CREATE. LEARN.

From the Desk of

The Executive Director

Tulips are starting to peak through the rain soaked soil and we are all dreaming of a summer filled with fun in the sun. The Community House is preparing too. When you and your family are ready, we are here to give all ages and interests something fun, and safe, to do this summer. Interested in Dance? Our new resident dance company Lively Arts has multiple dance genres for all age groups. Looking for summer camp? Our full day camp has weekly field trips, swimming each week and LOTS of screen free outdoor play. Want to stay fit? Our Yoga, Pilates or High Intensity interval training can give you the boost you need! Want to create? Our Summer Art Camp will have 3 geographic themes; New York, San Franciso and Sante Fe and we have more than a dozen STEM summer camp offerings. Want to keep the kids active? There are over 50 camps available for so many sports; basketball, flag football, taekwondo, soccer, archery, lacrosse, track, tennis, volleyball, and more! We’ve been the center of community activity for 8 decades and our 80th year will be no different! When you participate at The Community House, you not only get a great program experience, you also get to smile knowing you are supporting an organization that provides equitable access to mental health services, day care programming, and educational support for underserved communities. Because we do not receive tax support, your program registration and donations help us make a difference for families right here in DuPage County for families in need.

Make this your summer to do something different, put the phone down, and enjoy your family and your community.

Resident Organization The Village Tutors

"We firmly believe that with evidencebased support, along with compassion and kindness, all students can discover their academic potential." Suzanne Petree Founder

A note about . . .

Summer Learning During COVID-19 The COVID-19 global pandemic has turned our world upside down in many ways—including how and where our children learn. The Village Tutors have been successfully supporting students locally, nationally, and globally for years. We work both in person and online—and we are prepared to help your student, too.

CONNECT WITH US

Located on the 2nd floor of The Community House with additional locations in Hinsdale + Western Springs. Motivated by their own children’s struggles, The Village Tutors was formed in 2004 to provide support for gradeschool students who struggled in reading. Today, they provide full academic support for students, both online and in-person, from pre-school to college and beyond. With their help, your family can navigate the best possible educational path for your traditional or non- traditional learner.
