2012 jährt sich zum 150. Mal die Aufnahme diplomatischer Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und Thailand. Statt eines großen und spektakulären Events feiern alle unsere Aktivitäten dieses Jubiläum. All unsere Projekte sind auf Dialog und Begegnung angelegt und sind somit Ausdruck eines regen Interesses beider Länder aneinander. Erleben Sie in den kommenden Wochen und Monaten junge deutsche Solisten, die mit dem Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra konzertieren. Genießen Sie einen Abend mit dem NotosStreichquartett im Auditorium unseres Instituts. Seien Sie neugierig auf unkonventionelles deutsches Design, das wir Ihnen mit der Ausstellung „Anders als immer“ präsentieren. Preface In 2012 we celebrate the 150 th anniversary of Thai-German diplomatic relations. Instead of organizing a big and spectacular event we decided to put all our activities throughout the year under a logo which was designed for this specific purpose. All our projects focus on dialogue and encounter and they underline the interest that our two countries hold for each other. Throughout the coming weeks and months you can experience young German soloists performing with the Thai Philharmonic Orchestra, enjoy the Notos string quartet at our auditorium, expect unconventional design from Germany at the exhibition “Somewhat Different”, look forward to new movies that we show not only at our “open air”-cinema, but as well at the Paragon Cineplex and in Pattaya and get excited of the Nils Wogram Jazz Trio. Anders als Immer - Zeitgenössisches Design und die Macht des Gewohnten

Das Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen e. V. (ifa) präsentiert in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kurator Volker Albus die Ausstellung „Anders als Immer Zeitgenössisches Design und die Macht des Gewohnten“. 148 Objekte von 47 in Deutschland und 20 im europäischen Ausland arbeitenden Designern und Designergruppen zeigen eine Vielfalt von der Konvention abweichender Entwürfe und diskutieren diese Andersartigkeit anhand von Funktion, Material, Konstruktion und inhaltlichen Bezügen. Das Regal, der Orientteppich, der Sessel: diese Oberbegriffe wecken Erwartungen und Bilder von bestimmten Aussehen und Zusammenstellungen. Diese Assoziationen nehmen die Designer als Ausgang und treiben sie so auf die Spitze, dass die Objekte dazu auffordern, tradierte Vorstellungen in Frage zu stellen. Diese „Brüche mit der Macht des Gewohnten“ belegen die tief gehenden soziokulturellen Veränderungen, die wir zurzeit auf allen Gebieten unseres Alltags erfahren und die sich in Stichworten wie Mobilität, Migration, Fastfood und vielem mehr finden. Lassen Sie sich überraschen von dieser Welt des Normalen – so ganz anders als immer! Die Ausstellung sollte ursprünglich bereits im Dezember 2011 stattfinden, musste jedoch infolge des Hochwassers verlegt werden.

ดีไซน์นอกกรอบ – ศิลปะออกแบบยุค ร่วมสมัยกับการฝ่าฝืนแบบแผนกฏเกณฑ์ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ - 13 มีนาคม 2555 ณ คริสตัล ดีไซน์ เซ็นเตอร์ อาคาร ดี สถาบันความสัมพันธ์วัฒนธรรมต่างประเทศ หรือ อีฟ่า (ifa) น�ำเสนอนิทรรศการ "ดีไซน์นอก กรอบ - ศิลปะออกแบบยุคร่วมสมัยกับการฝ่าฝืนแบบแผนกฏเกณฑ์" โดยความร่วมมือของ ภัณฑารักษ์ โฟลเคอ อัลบุส ในนิทรรศการ แสดงงานการออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์จำ� นวน 148 ผลงาน จากความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และฝีมอื ของนักออกแบบอิสระและนักออกแบบจากสตูดโิ อในเยอรมนี จ�ำนวน 47 ท่าน สมทบ ด้วยงานของนักออกแบบชาวยุโรปอีก 20 ท่าน งานออกแบบทีน่ ำ� มาเสนอล้วนเป็นงานทีม่ คี วาม หลากหลายและแตกต่างไปจากแบบแผนดั้งเดิม พร้อมทั้งเสนอความคิดเห็นจากมุมมองของ นักวิจารณ์หลายสาขาต่อความแปลกต่างทีป่ รากฏในงาน ทัง้ ในเรือ่ งของประโยชน์ใช้สอย การ เลือกใช้วัสดุ การออกแบบโครงสร้าง และเนื้อหาของงาน หิ้งหนังสือ พรมเปอร์เซีย เก้าอี้นั่งโซฟา.... แค่เรานึกถึงหรือเอ่ยชื่อเรียกผลิตภัณฑ์เหล่านี้ เรา ก็เกิดมโนภาพได้ในทันทีวา่ มันมีรปู ร่างหน้าตาและโครงสร้างแบบไหน รูปแแบบทีต่ ายตัวของ เครื่องเรือนและของตกแต่งที่เราเห็นจนคุ้นชินและกลายมาเป็นแบบแผนกฏเกณฑ์เหล่านั้น นั่นเอง คือสิ่งที่นักออกแบบพยายามล้มล้างเปลี่ยนแปลง พวกเขาได้ใช้กลวิธีสร้างสรรค์อัน แสนวิจิตรพิสดารเพื่อรังสรรค์ผลงานแปลกใหม่และแตกต่างไปจากรูปแบบเดิมที่เคยมีอยู่ใน มโนภาพของทุกคนอย่างสิน้ เชิง ทว่าความคิดเรือ่ ง “การฝ่าฝืนแบบแผนกฏเกณฑ์” ในทีน่ ี้ มิได้มี ทีม่ าจากจินตนาการฝันเฟือ่ ง หากแต่สบื ย้อนไปถึงการเปลีย่ นแปลงทางสังคมวัฒนธรรมในเชิง ลึก ซึง่ เป็นความเปลีย่ นแปลงทีเ่ ราประสบอยูท่ กุ เมือ่ เชือ่ วันในทุกเสีย้ วขณะของการด�ำเนินชีวติ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแนวคิดเรื่อง ความคล่องตัว การเคลื่อนที่ได้ง่าย การโยกย้ายถิ่นฐาน วัฒนธรรม ฟาสต์ฟดู้ และบริบทแวดล้อมอืน่ ๆ อีกมากมาย แล้วคุณจะต้องประหลาดใจกับโลกธรรมดาใบนี้ - เพราะมันก�ำลังเป็นโลกที่แตกต่างไปจากเดิมอย่างสิ้นเชิง! นิทรรศการนีไ้ ด้ถกู เลือ่ นจัดแสดงจากเดือนธันวาคม 2554 เนือ่ งจากเหตุการณ์อทุ กภัยทีเ่ กิดขึน้ www.goethe.de/thailand • 7
Somewhat Different – Contemporary Design and the Power of Convention 27th February – 13th March 2012 Crystal Design Center, D building The Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa) and curator Volker Albus have prepared the exhibition Somewhat Different. Contemporary Design and the Power of Convention, which shows selected examples of this design phenomenon. The great diversity of designs diverging from the conventional is illustrated by 106 different items and a total of 148 objects by 67 individual designers and studios, 47 of them based in Germany and 20 in other European countries. The exhibition discusses the objects in terms of function, materials, construction and content references. The bookshelf, the Persian rug, the easy chair: these generic terms alone trigger associations relating to the structural, decorative and configurative aspects of the objects. This is why designers deliberately subvert their general, conventional understanding to reveal their absurdity. The designs do not only provoke astonishment, but challenge one to reflect on general expectations, codes of behaviour as well as the referential context of firmly established notions, and to review traditional fixations. For it is these 'breaks with the power of convention' that in their causality document the far-reaching socio-cultural changes, which we currently witness in all areas of our daily lives and which manifest themselves in key phenomena such as mobility, migration, changing nutritional habits and many more. The exhibition was originally planned for December 2011 but had to be postponed as a consequence of the flooding.

3. Februar – 30. März 2012 dusitD2 Baraquda, Pattaya
Das dusitD2 Baraquda veranstaltet zusammen mit dem Goethe-Institut in diesem Jahr erstmalig das „Pattaya Rooftop Film Fest“. Die gezeigt Filmreihe feiert 150 Jahre diplomatisch Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und Thailand. Über zwei Monate wird jede Woche ein anderer deutschsprachiger Film gezeigt, um Menschen mit Interesse für die deutsche Kultur und Sprache einen Einblick in die aktuelle deutsche Filmszene zu geben können. Gleichzeitig haben auch Menschen deutschsprachiger Herkunft hier die Möglichkeit, sich einen Abend lang gedanklich in ihre Heimat zu versetzen. Gezeigt werden die Filme auf der 150m2 großen modernen Dachterrasse des dusitD2 vor der wunderschönen Kulisse des Sonnenuntergangs von Pattaya. Pattaya Rooftop Film Fest 2012 German Film Series 3rd February – 30th March 2012 dusitD2 Baraquda, Pattaya In February and March, the dusitD2 Baraquda in Pattaya is organizing the “Pattaya Rooftop Film Fest 2012” for the first time, planned in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut and in honour of the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Germany. Over the period of two months, every week another German film will be presented, giving people interested in German culture and language the opportunity to get an insight into the contemporary German film scene. At the same time, people from German-speaking countries have the chance to put themselves mentally back into the surroundings of their home cultures for one night. The films can be seen on the modern 150 sqm rooftop lounge of dusitD2, in front of the beautiful sunset of Pattaya. An entirely new and unique film experience is waiting for every guest. Anknüpfend an den Erfolg des vorherigen Jahres zeigt das Goethe-Institut in Kooperation mit dem Thai Film Archiv eine Filmreihe mit ausgewählten Filmen aus deutschsprachigen Ländern im Srisalaya Kino. Für Filmliebhaber und Freunde des deutschen Films ist dies die perfekte Gelegenheit, aktuelle Filme verschiedener Genres wie Drama, Comedy und Fantasy, sowie mehrfach ausgezeichnete Filme der letzten Jahre kennenzulernen. Gezeigt werden beispielsweise „Die Fremde“ (Deutscher Filmpreis für die Beste Hauptdarstellerin) und „Das Leben der Anderen“ (Oscar für den Besten Fremdsprachigen Film). Der Eintritt ist kostenlos. Following the success of the previous year, the Goethe-Institut will shows a film series of selected movies from German-speaking countries in partnership with the Thai Film Archive at the Srisalaya cinema. For film lovers, this is the perfect chance to get to know contemporary movies of different genres, such as drama, comedy and fantasy, as well as award-winning movies from the past few-years. You can enjoy among others “When we leave” (German Film Award for Best Leading Actress) and “The Life of Others” (Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film). Entrance is free. Nils Wogram gilt als einer der großen Hoffnungen des europäischen Jazz. Mit seinen unvergleichlich virtuosen Fertigkeiten an der Posaune hat er sich als einzigartiger Jazzkünstler etabliert. Im Rahmen seiner Konzertreihe wird er mit seinen beiden Musikkollegen Brian Charette und Dejan Terzic als das „Nostalgia Trio“ Asien bereisen und dabei seine Jazzkünste im Goethe-Institut Thailand präsentieren.

Nils Wogram wurde 1972 in Braunschweig geboren, wo er auch seinen ersten Posaunenunterricht erhielt. 1990 trat er in das Bundesjugendjazzorchester ein. Von 1992 bis 1994 erhielt er ein Stipendium an der "New School" in New York City. Dort nahm er Kurse in den Fächern Posaune, Komposition und Arrangement u.a. bei Conrad Herwig, Slide Hampton, Kenny Werner und Maria Schneider. 2001 ging Nils Wogram auf eine Südamerika-Tournee im Auftrag des Goethe-Instituts sowie im folgenden Jahr auf eine Russland-Tour. Er gab Konzerte auf Europäischen Festivals wie Moers, Saalfelden, Willisau, dem North Sea Jazz Festival und weiteren. Seit 2004 lehrt er Musik an der Hochschule Luzern.

8 มีนาคม 2555 เวลา 19.00 น. หอประชุม สถาบันเกอเธ่ ประเทศไทย บัตรราคา 200 บาท / นักเรียนและนักศึกษา 100 บาท นิลส์ โวกรัม ได้รบั การยกย่องว่าเป็นหนึง่ ในความหวังใหม่ของดนตรีแจ๊สแห่งยุโรป ด้วยทักษะการ เป่าแตรยาวทรอมโบนอันเชี่ยวชาญและโดดเด่นแปลกต่าง ที่สร้างความเป็นศิลปินดนตรีแจ๊ส หนึ่งเดียวอย่างแท้จริงให้กับตัวเขา ส�ำหรับการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตที่สถาบันเกอเธ่ ประเทศไทย ครั้งนี้ นิลส์ โวกรัม จะแสดงร่วมกับเพื่อนศิลปินดนตรีอีกสองท่านคือ ไบรอัน ชาแรตเตอ กับ เดชาน แทร์ซกิ ในนามของ "ทริโอ นอสทาลเจีย" ก่อนทีศ่ ลิ ปินทัง้ สามจะเดินทางตระเวนแสดง คอนเสิร์ตต่อไปยังนานาประเทศในทวีปเอเชีย นิลส์ โวกรัม มือทรอมโบนเกิดเมื่อปีค.ศ. 1972 ที่เมืองบราวน์ชไว้ก์ ประเทศเยอรมนี เริ่ม ศึกษาดนตรีคลาสสิกมาตั้งแต่เป็นเด็กหนุ่มอายุ 12 ปี โดยได้เข้าเป็นสมาชิกคณะบุนเดส ยูเก้นด์แจ๊สออเคสตร้า (แจ๊สออเคสตร้าเยาวชนรุ่นใหม่แห่งสหพันธรัฐฯ) ต่อมาในช่วงปีค.ศ. 1992 - 1994 เขาได้รับทุนรัฐบาลไปศึกษาวิชาดนตรีที่ "นิว สคูล" แห่งนครนิวยอร์ก ใน สาขาเครื่องเป่าแตรยาว และสาขาการแต่งท�ำนองดนตรี โดยได้ร�่ำเรียนกับ คอนราด แฮร์ วิก สไลด์ แฮมพ์ตัน เคนนี่ แวร์เนอร์ และ มาเรีย ชไนเดอร์ ต่อมาในปีค.ศ. 2001 เขาได้ รับการสนับสนุนจากสถาบันเกอเธ่ให้ตระเวนแสดงคอนเสิร์ตในประเทศต่างๆ แถบอเมริกา กลาง รวมทั้งประเทศรัสเซียในปีถัดมา นอกจากนี้ นิลส์ โวกรัม ยังได้แสดงความสามารถอัน ยอดเยี่ยมของเขาในคอนเสิร์ตครั้งส�ำคัญๆ ของยุโรปอีกหลายแห่ง เช่น คอนเสิร์ตที่มอเออร์ส คอนเสิร์ตที่ซาลเฟลเด้น คอนเสิร์ตที่วิลลิเซา และเทศกาลนอร์ทซีแจ๊สเฟสติวัล (แจ๊ส ทะเลเหนือ) ฯลฯ ตั้งแต่ปีค.ศ. 2004 เป็นต้นมา นิลส์ โวกรัม ได้รับแต่งตั้งเป็นอาจารย์สอน ดนตรีให้กับวิทยาลัยดุริยางคศิลป์แห่งเมืองลูเซิร์น สวิตเซอร์แลนด์ www.goethe.de/thailand • 19

With his outstanding virtuoso skills on the trombone, Nils Wogram has established himself as a unique Jazz artist. Together with his musician colleagues Brian Charette and Dejan Terzic, Nils Wogram will show his Jazz skills in the Goethe-Institut Thailand while performing a concert series in Asia.

Nils Wogram was born 1972 in Braunschweig, Germany. He began classical study at twelve and joined the Federal Jazz Orchestra of Germany in 1990. From 1992-1994 he went with a scholarship to the «New school» of New York City, to study the subjects trombone and composition/music arrangement with Conrad Herwig, Slide Hampton, Kenny Werner and Maria Schneider. Nils Wogram did a Latin-America tour in 2001 for the Goethe-Institut and another tour in Russia in the following year. He also played at several European concerts such as Moers, Saalfelden, Willisau and the North Sea Jazz Festival. Since 2004 he teaches at Lucerne music conservatory.

55 Jahre Thai-Deutsche Technische Zusammenarbeit

Die Ausstellung präsentiert die Arbeit der Thai-Deuschen Technischen Zusammenarbeit, die mit dem Übereinkommen der Wirtschaftlichen und Technischen Zusammenarbeit beider Länder am 9. Okt. 1956 begann. Bisher kann die Zusammenarbeit auf über 200 Projekte in fast allen Bereichen der Entwicklungsarbeit zurückblicken. Bis in die späten 70er Jahre konzentrierte sich die Zusammenarbeit größtenteils auf die Themen berufliche Bildung, Gesundheit, Infrastruktur sowie auf ländliche Entwicklung. In den vergangenen Jahren lag der Schwerpunkt hingegen vermehrt auf städtischer- und wirtschaftlicher Entwicklung durch die Förderung kleiner und mittelständischer Unternehmen sowie auf Umwelt- und Klimaschutz. Seitdem Thailand selbst eine führende Rolle in der Region eingenommen hat, fungiert es selbst als Geber in dem Thai-Deutschen Dreieckkooperations-Programm. In diesem unterstützen und beraten Deutschland und Thailand gemeinsam Thailands Nachbarländer. Heute deckt die Thai-Deutsche Technische Zusammenarbeit sowohl bilaterale und trilaterale als auch regionale Zusammenarbeit ab. Die zeitgeschichtliche Ausstellung präsentiert Meilensteine der Zusammenarbeit auch in Bezug auf globale Ereignisse. Zudem zeigt ein Dokumentarfilm die bisherigen Wirkungen der Zusammenarbeit sowie die gesammelten Lehren und Erfahrungen aus der Arbeitspraxis ehemaliger Projektbeteiligter.

The exhibition presents the works of the Thai–German technical cooperation, which began on October 9, 1956 with the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation. The cooperation has covered over 200 development projects so far in almost all areas. Until the late 1970s, efforts and projects had been concentrated on vocational education, health, infrastructure and rural development. During the last 20 years urban development, economic development through the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises and environmental and climate protection was put in focus. Since Thailand plays a crucial role in the region, Thailand is engaged as a provider in development cooperation under Thai-German Trilateral Cooperation Programme with a third partner. Both countries jointly transfer their know-how and experiences to support the neighbouring countries and the region. Today the Thai-German technical cooperation covers bilateral, regional and trilateral cooperation. The time-line exhibition presents major milestones of the cooperation in the global development context of the last six decades, including real-life stories of the people and institutes. In addition, a short-documentary film presents lesson learned from the view point of former stakeholders and major impacts.

August um 19.00 Uhr Auditorium der Thai-Deutschen-Kulturstiftung und des Goethe-Instituts Das Goethe-Institut führt in Zusammenarbeit mit der Thai-Deutschen Kulturstiftung seine Konzertreihe mit jungen Musikern der Universitäten Bangkoks fort. Klassische Musik hat noch keine sehr lange Tradition in Thailand – umso wichtiger ist die Unterstützung junger Musiker. Im Rahmen dieser Kammerkonzertreihe geben wir studentischen Musikensembles verschiedener Musikschulen und Universitäten eine Plattform, um ihr Können unter Beweis zu stellen. Das von der Thai-Deutschen-Kulturstiftung und dem Goethe-Institut gemeinsam genutzte Auditorium bietet aufgrund seiner Größe und Akustik, aber auch wegen seiner zwei hervorragenden Flügel einen idealen Raum für Kammermusik.

At the auditorium of the Thai-German Cultural Foundation and the Goethe-Institut Thailand In cooperation with the Thai-German Cultural Foundation, the Goethe-Institut continues its chamber concert series with young musicians from several universities in Bangkok. Classical music still has a relatively young tradition in Thailand. Therefore, it is all the more important to support young musicians. Within the framework of this chamber concert series we would like to offer a platform to student ensembles of different music schools and universities to present their skills. The auditorium used by the Thai-German Cultural Foundation and the Goethe-Institut, provides the perfect location for chamber concerts because of its amplitude and acoustics as well as its two excellent grand pianos.

Deutscher Fotobuchpreis Ausstellung

Es ist zur Tradition geworden die mit dem „Deutschen Fotobuchpreis“ ausgezeichneten Bücher jährlich in einer Wanderausstellung in Bangkok, Singapur und den Philippinen zu Zeigen. Zwei Wochen lang wird das Goethe-Institut Thailand als gemütliche „Fotobuchgalerie“ dienen und lädt alle Besucher zur Ausstellung „Deutscher Fotobuchpreis 2012“ herzlich ein! Der deutsche Fotobuchpreis wird seit mehr als 30 Jahren vom Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, Landesverband Baden Württemberg vergeben. Nach der Vorauswahl werden über 200 eingereichte Fotobücher von einer Jury aus Fotografen, Fachjournalisten und Fotobuchhändlern bewertet. Jedes Buch wird nach seiner fotografischen Qualität, seiner besonderen fototechnischen und fotogeschichtlichen Güte sowie seinem ästhetischen Gesamteindruck beurteilt. Die besten Fotobücher, die eine hervorragende fotografische Aufgabenstellung präsentieren, werden von der Fachjury ausgewählt. Es wird in drei Kategorien unterschieden: Bücher zur Fotogeschichte und –theorie, Fotobildbände und Fotolehrbücher. Wie jedes Jahr werden die besten Titel 2012 mit den Siegertiteln „Gold“ und „Silber“ ausgezeichnet, alle anderen mit „Nominiert 2012“. Das Goethe-Institut Thailand zeigt alle Siegertitel und Nominierten.

Goethe-Institut Thailand Besides other places like Germany, Singapore and the Philippines, Bangkok has been listed as one of the stations where the touring exhibition “Deutscher Fotobuchpreis 2012” (German Photo Book Award 2012) will be presented this year. The exhibition will be housed at the Goethe-Institut for two weeks. We warmly welcome everyone to visit our temporary cozy “photo book gallery”! The “Deutscher Fotobuchpreis” or “the German Photo Book” Award has been annually given by the Association of Publishers & Booksellers in BadenWuerttemberg for more than 30 years. After the pre-selection round, over 200 of the submitted Photo Books will be evaluated by an independent group of renowned experts such as photographers, specialised journalists and photo books sellers. The awards are given in three categories: books on theory& history of photography, illustrated books and photo textbooks. The criteria is based on photographic quality and aesthetic impression overall. Performance of special technique and contributions to the history of photography are considered as well. The best photo books with outstanding photographic elements will be awarded with “gold” and “silver”. Notos Quartett Klassisches Konzert

Notos – der Sage nach ein vielseitiger, mal sanfter und mal stürmischer Südwind, der die Menschen auf unterschiedlichste Weise berührt – ist Namensgeber für das im Jahre 2007 gegründete Klavierquartett, das bei einem Konzert im Goethe-Institut Thailand seine außergewöhnlichen musikalischen Fähigkeiten unter Beweis stellen wird.

Das Ensemble hat bereits vielfältige internationalen Erfahrung mit großen Musikevents wie der Wigmore Hall in London, dem Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, den Schwetzinger Festspielen und dem Hambacher Musikfest. Hierbei gelang es dem Quartett jedes Mal durch eine überzeugende Gestaltung sowie einem beeindruckenden Zusammenspiel, das Publikum zu bewegen und mitzureißen. Diese einzigartige Mischung aus musikalischem Talent und Kreativität des Notos Quartetts wird gleichermaßen von Publikum und Musikkritikern gelobt. Notos Quartet Classical Concert 21st May 2012 Auditorium Goethe-Institut Thailand Notos, the personification of the South Wind, sometimes a gentle breeze, sometimes the bringer of storms, is also the name of a piano quartet founded in 2007, which will prove its outstanding musical skills in a concert at the Goethe-Institut Thailand.

The ensemble already has much international experience with well-known music events such as the Wigmore Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Schwetzinger Festspiele and Hambacher Musikfest. With its brilliant arrangement and its convincing interplay the quartet managed not only to persuade but to carry away the audience. This unique mixture of musical talent and creativity in the Notos Quartet is praised by the audience and critics likewise. By transferring their enthusiasm for classical music to the listeners, concerts by the Notos Quartet are always a fascinating experience.

Bangkok International Typographic Symposium – BITS MMXI

Das Symposium wird präsentiert von der Alliance Française, dem GoetheInstitut und der Japan Foundation. Organisiert wird die Veranstaltung von Cadson Demak in Zusammenarbeit mit ThaiGa. Sie konzentriert sich auf die thailändische Design-Szene. BITS wurde ins Leben gerufen, um den Austausch über Schriftgestaltung anzuregen und thailändischen Designern eine Plattform zu bieten, um mit internationalen Schriftsetzern und Experten Ideen auszutauschen, Konzepte zu hinterfragen und Einsichten zu teilen. Dies ist ein großer Schritt in Richtung Internationalisierung der Standards der thailändischen Design-Industrie. In 2010 besuchten unter anderem professionelle Designer und Studenten die Workshops, Das Interesse davon war so groß, dass die Plätze schon 2 Monate im Voraus ausgebucht waren.

การสัมมนาวิชาการอักษรศิลป์นานาชาติ กรุงเทพฯ 25 - 26 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2555 สมาคมฝรั่งเศส กรุงเทพฯ การสัมมนาวิชาการอักษรศิลป์นานาชาติ กรุงเทพฯ ถือเป็นกิจกรรมด้านศิลปะการออกแบบ จัดวางตัวอักษรที่จัดให้มีขนึ้ อย่างเป็นทางการเป็นแห่งแรกในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และสามารถดึงดูดกลุม่ คนในวงการออกแบบของประเทศไทยให้เข้าร่วมงานได้เป็นจ�ำนวนมาก น�ำเสนอโดยสมาคมฝรั่งเศส สถาบันเกอเธ่ ประเทศไทย และเจแปน ฟาวน์เดชั่น ด�ำเนินงาน โดยบริษัท คัดสรรดีมาก จ�ำกัด ภายใต้ความร่วมมือของ สมาคมนักออกแบบเรขศิลป์ไทย วัตถุประสงค์ในการจัดงานก็เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้มีการแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นในด้านการ ออกแบบจัดวางตัวอักษร และเป็นเวทีเสวนา อภิปราย กระทู้ถาม และแลกเปลี่ยนแนวคิดกัน ระหว่างนักออกแบบชาวไทยกับนักออกแบบตัวอักษรชือ่ ดังระดับโลก ซึง่ ถือเป็นพัฒนาการทีม่ ี ความส�ำคัญยิง่ ในการยกระดับมาตรฐานอุตสาหรรมการออกแบบของประเทศไทยให้ทดั เทียม กับนานาชาติ ในปีพ.ศ. 2553 มีผสู้ นใจเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมสัมมนาอย่างคับคัง่ ทัง้ นักออกแบบชัน้ แนวหน้า และ นักศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆ จนต้องปิดลงทะเบียนก่อนเปิดงานถึงสองเดือน การสัมมนานี้ได้ถูกเลื่อนจากเดือนตุลาคม 2554 เนื่องจากเหตุการณ์อุทกภัยที่เกิดขึ้น

Bangkok International Typographic Symposium – BITS MMXI 25th – 26th May 2012 Alliance Française Bangkok The Bangkok International Typographic Symposium is officially the first ever international typographic conference organised in Southeast Asia and brought a considerable amount of attention to the design community in Thailand. It is presented by the Alliance Française, the Goethe-Institut and the Japan Foundation. It is organized by Cadson Demak in association with ThaiGa.
BITS was created for the purpose of opening a discussion on type design and presents a platform where Thai designers can talk, discuss, question, and share ideas with international typographers and experts. It is a significant development towards international standards for the design industry in Thailand. In 2010 workshop participants included professional designers and students from various universities and turned out to be so popular that seats were filled two months in advance.

Die Comics- und Mangaszene gilt als vornehmlich von asiatischen Künstlern dominiert. Das Goethe-Institut möchte mit dieser Ausstellung zu einem neuen Bild und zu einer neuen Wahrnehmung der deutschen Comics- und MangaKultur beitragen. Die Ausstellung „Comics, Manga & Co“ und der gleichnamige Katalog zeigen zwei Generationen von deutschen Comic-Zeichnerinnen und Zeichnern, die einen bedeutenden Anteil an der Erschaffung einer neuen deutschen Comic-Kultur hatten. Sie eint das gemeinsame Interesse, mit neuen Formen des Comics zu experimentieren und dabei den Comic mit Elementen der Malerei, Grafik und Illustration zu erweitern. Hierzu bedienen sich die Künstler der unterschiedlichsten Variationen der Technik und Erzählformen.

Goethe-Institut Thailand The comic and manga scene is known to be primarily shaped by Asian artists. With this exhibition, the Goethe-Institut aims at creating a renewed image and a new perception of the German comic and manga culture. The exhibition “Comics, Manga & Co” and the catalogue of the same name present two generations of German comic artists who have made an immense contribution to the creation of a new German comic culture. They share the common interest to experiment with new forms of comic, hereby expanding it with elements of painting, graphic arts and illustration. While doing this, the artists make use of different variations of techniques and modes of narration.

Wie Goethe steht auch der Namensgeber des Beethoven-Wettbewerbs für große deutsche Kunst und Kultur. Bereits zum sechsten Mal wird dieser Wettbewerb vom Goethe-Institut Thailand mit dem Ziel ausgerichtet, junge Talente zu fördern und das Publikum an deren Begabung teilhaben zu lassen. Vom 15. bis zum 28. Oktober werden junge Streicher die Gelegenheit haben, ihr Können vor den nationalen und internationalen Juroren unter Beweis zu stellen. Wie auch in den vergangenen Jahren werden die Gewinner zum Internationalen Beethovenfest nach Bonn reisen und dort im Rahmenprogramm auftreten. As in recent years, the winners of this year will receive an invitation to the prestigious Beethovenfest in Bonn, Germany in 2013. ศูนย์ข้อมูลและห้องสมุด ห้องสมุดสถาบันเกอเธ่ ประเทศไทย มีสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ที่หลากหลายไว้ให้บริการ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น หนังสือ หนังสือพิมพ์ และนิตยสารที่เป็นภาษาเยอรมัน ภาษาไทย และภาษาอังกฤษ รวมถึง สื่อมัลติมีเดียที่ทันสมัย เช่น หนังสือเสียง (Audio CD) ซีดีเพลง และดีวีดีภาพยนตร์ เพื่อให้ ท่านสามารถติดตามสถานการณ์ข่าวสาร และกระแสใหม่ๆ ในประเทศเยอรมนี นอกจากนี้ เรายังสนับสนุนวรรณคดีเยอรมันร่วมสมัย โดยจัดให้ Literature- Cafe เป็นประจ�ำ เพื่อให้ผู้ ทีร่ กั การอ่านมีโอกาสแลกเปลีย่ นความคิด และติดตามความเคลือ่ นไหวของแวดวงวรรณกรรม เยอรมันปัจจุบัน ภายในห้องสมุดยังมีมุม เรียนรู้ด้วยตนเอง (Self Learning Centre) เพื่อให้นักเรียนภาษา ของสถาบันฯ และสมาชิกห้องสมุดสามารถฝึกฝนภาษาเยอรมันด้วยตนเองจากโปรแกรม ต่างๆ ทั้งในรูปแบบเกมส์ อินเตอร์เนต และสื่อมัลติมีเดียอื่นๆ ซึ่งจะท�ำให้การเรียนภาษา เยอรมันง่าย และสนุกขึ้น นอกจากนี้ เรายังท�ำหน้าทีเ่ ป็นศูนย์ขอ้ มูลเพือ่ ให้ขอ้ มูล และค�ำแนะน�ำกับผูท้ สี่ นใจและต้องการ รู้จักประเทศเยอรมนีมากขึ้น และเรายังต้อนรับกลุ่มนิสิต นักเรียน นักศึกษาที่ต้องการเยี่ยม ชมห้องสมุด ศูนย์ข้อมูลและห้องสมุดสถาบันเกอเธ่ฯ เปิดให้บริการส�ำหรับบุคคลทั่วไป โดย ไม่ต้องเสียค่าใช้จ่ายในการใช้บริการสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ภายในห้องสมุด ท่านสามารถสอบถามข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม และกิจกรรมของห้องสมุดได้จากเว็บไซต์และจดหมาย ข่าวของเรา เวลาท�ำการ วันจันทร์ วันอังคาร - วันพฤหัสบดี วันศุกร์ วันเสาร์และวันอาทิตย์ โทร : 0 2287 0942 - 4 ต่อ 24, 25 library@bangkok.goethe.org

The Information-Centre and Library The Information Centre and Library is open to the public and the referenceuse is free of charge. It houses a varied collection of books in German, English and Thai. We have a nice selection of audio books, music CDs and DVDs as well. Daily newspapers and monthly magazines will keep you informed about the latest trends and current issues in Germany. Also, we focus on contemporary German literature. A “Literature -Café” is arranged 4-5 times a year in the library. If you’re interested in what’s happening in German literature today, here is the right place! The “Self-Learning Centre” is another service for course participants and library members who want to enhance their German language skills. We offer different multimedia programmes such as games, internet and audio-visual files that will make learning German much more fun! Our Information Centre also provides information about Germany to help you get to know the country better. School and university students are welcome to take a “tour” inside the library too.
