LIOR LTD offers a new approach to solving various problems in diverse industries with the aim of increasing profit, reducing risk, and promoting safety.
We have selected a road safety project as its flagship project. Through using proximity sensitive technology, we intend to reduce unnecessary low speed crashes associated with traffic jams, miscalculations during parking, and ultimately reduce the number of motor vehicle accidents. These accidents can be easily avoided if we divert resources to address it. And if properly addressed, it could also result in substantial savings for both the insurance companies involved and the owners of motor vehicles.

Research indicates that 90% of road accidents are as a result of human error. Nairobi is famous for the traffic jams experienced during the rush hours when heading to/from the central business district. These strenuous traffic jams are a big contributor to driver fatigue, which is known to cause more than 20% of road accidents because it impairs driver judgment. It’s no wonder that Nairobi experiences 22% of the country’s road accidents annually.

THE TARGET MARKET However, with a proximity sensor that uses both visual and audio aids to alert drivers of potential obstacles, we can reduce the probability of low speed crashes by up to 70%.
VALUE PROPOSITION A proximity sensor, which is relatively priced, can go a long way in reducing the probability of low speed crashes and vehicle damages. Reduced risk translates to a financial benefit to both the insurance firm and vehicle owner. It reduces costs, incurred by low speed accidents and car damages, to the insurance firm in terms of claims. Also, Elior is open to partnerships with insurers and automotive dealers, and can broker sales through the said channels. This opens up a new revenue stream for the insurance firm as they can subscribe to a given margin for each sale made.
