Youth group expands remit

Community needs more post-Covid, says Joanne Bain We are in transition as a charity. We are now AYC (Alford Youth & Community), and not just the Alford Youth Cafe. We are still on the lookout for a new building for that venture, following the closure of TickTock. AYC is in the process of creating a website so it’s clearer for everyone what acitivies are available. At the moment, everything is being advertised on the Alford Youth Cafe page on Facebook. As we have come out of lockdown, we as a team have had the heartbeat of this village in our hearts. Already in a short space of time we have set up a toddler group which runs every Tuesday at Haughton Park 10-12 (T in the Park!). We are also looking to do monthly youth nights at Haughton Park with a fire pit, creating an outdoor space to hang out and chill together. Watch this space...

Alford Youth & Community is excited to bring you a monthly Men's Night, at 70 Main Street, Alford. Every fourth Friday of the month, the gents from Alford are welcome to come along to the home of the organisation’s trustees for a lads’ catch-up from 7-9pm. Joanne and Ricky Bain have a home that has room to offer pool/darts/putting mat and board games. There will be food/hot drinks, even Ricky’s bad taste in music.
