About Myrte I am MYRTE and not very surprisingly my name is Myrte. When I drew a little kingfisher in 2008 I couldn’t stop drawing birds. From when I was a child I have had a deep love for animals and after travelling to other countries - looking for bears, squirrels and hamsters in the wild- I realised that wildlife in The Netherlands is right in our own backyard. And the wildlife we have here is beautiful too. A bird world opened up for me. I had been a fashion designer for 10 years and this new passion came right on time. For MYRTE I can unite all my great loves: textiles and nature, together with design and interior.

Where ever I am I look for nature. I have lunch with the blackbird and I hear the jackdaws discuss heavy topics on my roof. I draw them like any other illustrator, but pencil and paper are replaced by a digital tablet and stylus. On my screen I colour the bird, feather by feather. I use many colours and one bird consists of thousands of strokes. It can take up to two weeks to finish a drawing. I am grateful that I can share my love for nature with others that are touched by it. I only draw the subjects I meet. I dive into their world and write a little story about them, whether it´s a bird or a flower.

I do my best to design products that don´t harm the environment. The use of organic fabric for my luxury pillows is an example of that.With new products, that is always what is on my mind; designing something that is as close to my beliefs as possible.

In this catalogue you´ll find all my items that I have created with love for nature. I hope you’ll enjoy. It is my ode to nature.

Hand drawn All illustrations are hand drawn. The wallsticker of the Spotted Woodpecker below is the result of more than 8.000 penstrokes. A glimpse of the drawing process can be seen on the right. New! Jewellery

Myrte has always been mad about charms. We found a company where a craftsman hand carved the design for us, which was then made into a mold.

Each necklace is branded modestly with a logo tag near the closure, and an extension chain. There are two lengths available; 40-44cm and 76-80cm.

And the Blackbird and Robin are also made as earrings.

Myrte is altijd al gek geweest van bedeltjes. We vonden een bedrijf waar een vakman met de hand een ontwerp sneed voor ons, waar weer een mal van gemaakt werd.

Iedere halsketting heeft een mooi klein labeltje met het logo vlakbij de sluiting en een verlengketting. Er zijn twee lengtes verkrijgbaar; 40-44cm en 7680cm. Van de merel en Roodborst zijn nu ook oorbellen verkrijgbaar.

Fine Art Prints

All illustrations done by Myrte are available on A5, A4 and A3 size. Printed on wonderfully thick etching paper with CanonÂŽ inks that last 100 years.

Or ask for your custom size. Lifesize or as big as your wall, anything is possible. We always use the highest quality and environmentally sound papers and inks.

Alle tekeningen van Myrte zijn verkrijgbaar op A5, A4 en A3 formaat. Geprint op heerlijk dik etspapier met CanonÂŽ inkten die 100 jaar mooi blijven.

Wall paper and fabrics We are expanding our collection of wallpaper and fabrics with our birds and flowers constantly. The wallpaper is full colour printed on good quality paper that can be glued directly to the wall. The matching collection of fabrics meets the needs of decorators, designers and lovers of unique fabrics. We work with organic cotton and silk. All fabrics are printed in The Netherlands.

We breiden de collectie ons behang en stoffen met vogeltjes en bloemetjes constant uit. Het behang wordt full colour geprint op goede kwaliteit vliesbehang dat direct op de muur geplakt kan worden. De bijpassende collectie stoffen is ontworpen voor decorateurs, ontwerpers en liefhebbers van unieke stoffen.

We werken met biologische katoen en zijde. Alle stoffen worden in Nederland geprint.

Tableware / Servies We’re finally done, we’ve finished our sample collection. Everything is ready for preorder. This means that we’ll collect the orders to meet a minimum demand for production.

The collection comprises of mugs, saucers, teapots, a milk jug, a sugar bowl, dinner plates, breakfast plates and a salad or dessert plate. We’ll start the pre-order process with 3 animal illustrations, and 9 bird illustrations.

Everything is made in Europe and created with love. We use porcelain only and full colour decals to make Myrte’s illustrations shine on the glaze!

Greeting Cards / Wenskaarten Together with French greeting card publisher Zazous Editions MYRTE has set up a collection with the brightest birds! Named “Les Oiseaux Rares”, these are certainly some rare beauties.

Because we love nature, the greeting cards are printed on PEFC certified cardstock. We cannot express enough how happy we are with this cooperation. Ordering the cards go through Zazous Editions. Samen met de Franse uitgeverij Zazous Editions heeft MYRTE een collectie wenskaarten uitgebracht! Met de prachtige naam “Les Oiseaux Rares”, worden het natuurlijk al uitzonderlijk speciale vogeltjes.

Journals Scribbling down your thoughts in these luxurious journals makes all your writings look even better. This notebook will stay with you for 320 pages.

All pages are lined and there is a space to date your pages, so it can easily be used as a diary as well.

The inner pages have a beautiful decor and a name label.

With its 500 grams and 2.2cm thickness it is impressive and sturdy but the fabric cover makes it simply gorgeous as well.

The fabric is printed with MYRTE’s illustrations. It look a long time for MYRTE to find someone who could make this journal with FSC certified paper. As always it was worth it.

Noteer al je gedachten in deze luxe journals. Zo zien je aantekeningen er nog beter uit. Het notitieboek zal 240 pagina’s bij je je blijven (en daarna nog langer hopen we). Alle pagina’s zijn gelinieerd en er is plaats voor en datum, dus je kunt het makkelijk als dagboek gebruiken.

De binnenpagina’s hebben een mooi decor en naamlabel. Met z’n 500gram en 2.2 cm is het een indrukwekkend mooi boekwerk en de stoffen kaft maakt het nog mooier.

Het linen is beprint met MYRTE’s vogelillustraties. We hebben er lang over gedaan om iemand te vinden die deze notitieboeken met FSC gecertificeerd papier kon maken. Natuurlijk was het dat meer dan waard.
