DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND BELONGING At RWU Law, we strive to build an environment where your voice is valued. We are not perfect – but we work hard to live our mission by celebrating the challenges and enrichment that our commitment to diversity offers to our students and the greater community. Through the many efforts of our Office of Diversity & Outreach, as well as our Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee, you can play an important role in helping us achieve that mission.

INNOVATIVE CURRICULUM RWU Law is one of only a few law schools in the United States to have reformed its core legal curriculum, requiring all students to take the same foundational course on race and the foundations of American law. In your second year, you will engage deeply on these topics and build a shared understanding of how our legal system was created, how it truly works, and how it can be changed. Roger Williams University is located on a peninsula that was sacred to the Pokanokets and in a town that played a leading role in the trade of enslaved human lives. We consider it integral to our mission to build a more socially just world. This is one of many ways we do that.
