Old Dominion University Arts Summer Camp 2010 Program Overview The Art Education program at Old Dominion University is offering the ODU Arts Camp for children rising into grades 1- 8. Camp activities include experiences in a variety of art media such as: drawing, painting, sculpture, clay, fibers, printmaking, digital art, and on campus field trips. The program is rich in VA. Art and core SOLs and creative/critical thinking skills. Each session will focus on a different theme so participants can sign up for one, two or all three sessions!
Session 1 June 21 -25 Theme- Heroes- Explore ideas such as adventures, rights, freedoms, peace
Session 2 June 28 -July 2 Theme-Save the Earth- Explore ideas such ecology, the environment, reuse/ recycle
Session 3 July 5 - July 9 Theme – Narratives-Explore ideas such as storytelling, illustration, cartoons, sequential art
Time: 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
Location: Classes are held on ODU campus in the Visual Arts Building on 49th St. near Hampton Blvd. (look for the red roof).
Registration cost: $220 /week- due by June 14, 2010.
