Food trucks will offer affordable items for purchase. Pastor David Joynt is also excited about Oasis: Oasis Community Wednesdays is on my calendar every week. I enjoy deepening bonds with people I meet and greet on Sundays. Come and sample the food trucks, hear the choirs, explore your questions in the classes, and make some new friends. Scottsdale & Paradise Valley for Africa is a day when people, schools, business, and our community will come together to highlight the positive and lasting effects that VPC has seen in the towns and people of Malawi, Africa, one of the world’s least developed countries. Land has been purchased for the secondary school we are helping to build, and the government has approved the building plan. At this event we will raise awareness of the needs of the people in Malawi, participate in acts of solidarity, and raise funds to complete stage one of the secondary school. In Malawi, teachers can bike up to 20 miles every day and the children can walk up to 10 miles daily. We will have a one-mile loop to be able to walk in solidarity with the students. There will be an interactive experience to learn what a day for a Malawian orphan looks like. There will also be music, food and entertainment. It will be a great day of celebration with a purpose. 100% of every dollar raised through sponsorships, donations, and other activities will go directly to help the people of Malawi. When our community comes together we can ensure people have what they need for health and quality of life.
