Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition; 1 in 5 U.S. adults will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime. Throughout May, NAMI and participants across the country are raising awareness for mental health. Each year, we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for equal care. -See more at: nami.org/mentalhealthmonth VPC Mental Health Ministry contact Elizabeth Weiss: esweiss1231@gmail.com, 480-699-2982 24-hour Crisis Line: 602-222-9444

Remembering our veterans

2017 WOMEN'S RETREAT: COME TO THE TABLE Two weekends ago, forty-three of our VPC women were worshipping off-campus together in Prescott, Arizona. The Women’s Retreat is one of the many avenues the Women’s Ministry offers to connect with God and other women of all ages and backgrounds. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to take a pause from the distractions of everyday life to have intentional time of being enriched, encouraged, and inspired by other women,” says Carrie Anderson. Women participated in Biblical sessions with a women’s speaker from California and music with VPC's own Graciela Armendariz. Breakout sessions included art with Elder Susie Huseth, yoga, and a session on how to read Scripture with Pastor Kelly Nieto. “I’ve been on a spiritual high ever since,” wrote one participant. For women who would like to plug into VPC’s wonderful community of women, join us for Summer Bunko events, the Women’s Breakfast in September, and through Women’s Bible Study.
