What excites you about the renovations associated with A New Heart for the Valley? The most significant intention is to create a Becky & Bill Bennett “center” of the campus instead of having our diverse demographics spread from one end of the campus to the other. A New Heart for the Valley is a great and wonderful goal but accomplishing a heart and central focus for our church campus and programs will be rewarding. What motivated you to give to A New Heart for the Valley? Valley Presbyterian Church has been my church since I married Bill in 2000. I accepted Christ through my experience with Young Life and developed my Christian roots there. However, it wasn’t until I joined VPC that I engaged my faith. I have stretched and grown my faith and developed meaningful relationships at VPC through participation as a Deacon, an Elder, and as Director of Encore. My Christian family is at VPC. I believe the new heart for VPC will help attract those who are searching and longing for a relationship with Christ. I want to help make that happen. -Becky Bennett

VPC News 11:45AM Worship Service update

On August 21, Session, by e-mail vote, unanimously approved a Worship Committee motion to discontinue the 11:45AM Sunday Worship Service. The Worship Committee and staff noted that it is challenging to justify the pastoral and music resources needed for the service given the average weekly attendance. Additionally, Pastoral staff loses the opportunity to meet, greet, and connect with members and visitors after the 10:30AM service when the 11:45AM begins. Finally, they mentioned that once the Sanctuary has been remodeled, it will be crucial for the congregation to concentrate its energy to grow the 9 and 10:30AM services. At that point, it becomes difficult to continue the 11:45AM service.
