Faithful Life takes faith.

Find daily inspiration with Pastor Joynt's Devotionals READ PASTOR JOYNT'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL! To coincide with each sermon series, David writes daily devotionals that expand on the ideas and inspiration of each Sunday's sermon. Devotionals available in Worship Centers and online: vpc.church/devo Here's an excerpt from today's devotional: TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL: Faith Receives SUNDAY, JANUARY 13, 2019 1 CORINTHIANS 12:9 | To another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:13 | And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. Diogenes Allen, Christian philosopher and theologian, defines faith as “the ability to receive the good that God wants to give you.” Isn’t that exciting? Have you ever stopped to consider the wonderful goods God wants to give you? As we look at those this week, remember that faith, or the ability to receive God’s many graces, is itself a gift. 1 Corinthians 12 is a descriptive list of spiritual gifts bestowed by the Spirit. The famous “wedding passage,” 1 Corinthians 13, describes agape love as the greatest and most essential gift, and concludes with the abiding quality of faith, hope, and love, which are eternal. God wants to give all of us deeper, stronger faith. Do you pray for stronger faith?
