VPC'S MENTAL HEALTH MINISTRY

Valley Presbyterian Church

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL: FAITH SAVES DAY 1: SUNDAY, JANUARY 6, 2019 HEBREWS 11:6 “Without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who approaches him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

Faithful

Life takes faith. New series starts today!

Religions have devised so many ways to please or to appease God. Special kinds of offerings or sacrifices, given in specially designed ceremonies have been said to impress God, or at least to mollify him. Obedience to commandments, abstention from certain food or drink, participation in rituals and rites—all have been proposed, sometimes in combination, as ways to garner God’s approval and acceptance. The New Testament insists that nothing we do or say, without faith, will please God. What do you think pleases God about your life? How is faith different than religion?
