Malawi Cyclone Idai update
Recently a massive cyclone landed on the southeastern coast of Africa, causing widespread devastation to Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. The aftermath will have profound effects on our ministry partners in the region. If you'd like to know more or learn how you can help, email Chris Woodard: chrisw@vpc.church. Here are updates from our mission partners: Daniel Moyo with Ministry of Hope: We are very much safe this side [of the country]. The rains have made some houses to collapse even in Lilongwe, killing some in the process. The worst hurt are our brothers and sisters in the south and Mozambique and Zimbabwe. We might have shortage of fuel due to roads cut. But we are praying for the better. Liz Heinzel-Nelson with Villages in Partnership: Many of the houses in our impact area have been blown down or melted with the heavy rains and wind. Sanitation is a problem now as many pit latrines have collapsed. All kinds of problems we don’t even consider with storms like this. Thanks for keeping our brothers and sisters in your prayers.
