Ash Wednesday

FOCUS

Valley Presbyterian Church

Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, is a tradition commemorating the 40 day fast of Jesus’ temptation in the desert (as seen in Matthew 4, Mark 1, & Luke 4). It is an opportunity for us to reflect on the reality that life is short, we all will face death, and everlasting life is promised in Jesus by receiving God’s forgiveness through Him. Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent, a 40-day (not including Sundays) intentional season of fasting, self-examination, and worship of the Triune God by remembering the story of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. Free Spaghetti Dinner 5:15-6:15PM, Landes Patio

Worship 6:30-7:30PM, Landes Center

This free dinner is a chance to gather as a community. Everyone is invited!

Worship will be an opportunity for the whole family to think about and interact with the ways God is present in the world. During worship you can visit different stations to reflect on what God asks of us during Lent, the season that leads up to Easter.

We now must schedule pickups of these items. Going forward, we request that you arrange for items to be picked up from your home by ICM or the charity of your choice, or drop them off at the White Dove Thrift Shop.
