SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT... • Finding a reason to laugh, going for a walk, meditating, playing with a pet, or working from home once a week can go a long way in making you both physically and mentally healthy. • Spiritual practices like meditation are linked to increased levels of feel-good chemicals like serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins; and decreased levels of cortisol and noradrenaline, which are associated with stress. • Keep yourself mentally healthy by surrounding yourself with good people.

As the body of Christ, Paul reminds us we are called to “rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn.” (Romans 12:15) We rejoice in the gift of motherhood, a gift given in many different forms. Women, you are a mother if you have taken time in your life to bring comfort, love, direction, and peace to someone else. We rejoice in the opportunity every woman has to share these gifts of motherhood with their biological, spiritual, or adopted children. We mourn with those who have felt the pain of unrealized motherhood, of lost children, for those who have lost their mothers, and for those reminded today of separation and estrangement. As we rejoice and as we mourn, let us remember today the hope we have in Christ: God makes all things beautiful in God’s time. May God’s peace and presence be with you this Mother's Day and always. -Pastor Kelly Nieto
