Invitation to Reconsider The Invitation to Rethink Values and Attitudes HUNGER IN AMERICA: BY THE NUMBERS Millions of American households experienced food insecurity last year, meaning they did not have consistent access to food. One in seven American households is food insecure. In 2013, 14.3 percent of Americans – that’s 49 million people, including 15.7 million children – had difficulty providing enough food for their families. About 23.5 million Americans live in food deserts. More than half are low-income. Food deserts are geographic areas where access to affordable, healthy food is limited or nonexistent because grocery stores aren’t within a convenient traveling distance. 69% of food-insecure households report having to choose between food and utilities. 66% of food-insecure households have had to choose between food and medical care.

We're glad you are here today! VPC is a community that believes God calls us to be in relationship. 2020 Faith Giving vpc. church/g i v e
Commitment Sunday is November 17. What does that mean? Once a year, VPC sets aside time during worship to take the opportunity to signal a commitment to what God is doing in our lives, in our community, and in our world. You are invited to be a part of God's ministry at VPC in 2020. We ask, if you're able and willing, to indicate your support for VPC in 2020. It may be financial support, volunteering, praying for the church, or all three. Thank you for the ways in which you are God's hands and feet at VPC, and thank you for helping make this community vibrant and faith-filled!
Who We Are: The Sunday Morning Experience
How do we show guests VPC is a place where they can belong?
It's likely almost everyone here today can remember attending VPC for the first time‑uncertain where worship services are, anxious about registering kids for Sunday School, looking for restrooms or a classroom. While the campus is under construction, this place is even more confusing! Maybe that first time here was 40 years ago. Maybe it's today. If so, welcome! At VPC it's a priority to be a warm and welcoming church. To that end, Deacons have expanded to include a new Hospitality Ministry, and we need you! This ministry will consist of trained volunteer hosts, scattered throughout campus, to welcome each guest on Sunday mornings between worship services. We are looking for about 30 individuals who love people and love to have fun. Training will be held in January and launch in February. If you want to have some fun and meet great people, this new ministry is for you! If interested please contact Dave Turner: davidt@vpc.church
