Planning and design concepts are based on the concept of “harbor and gathering”: In history, Lang Qi bay was one of the starting points of the Silk Road on the sea, Haixia Youth Center should become a harbor that is full of passions, hopes and warmness, embracing friends from mainland China, Taiwan, and around the world, to gather in a place of shared memories. Reflecting the traditional houses in Fujian that are created to form living communities with harmony, the strong gathering layout brings visitors together into a family of buildings. The design provides an easy and continuous open-space environment that stimulates young people’s awareness of innovation and exploration. It is a camp where young people get prepared and ready to fly. The main buildings include a Conference Center, Innovation Center, Culture Street, Sport Center, And Student Housing/ Hotel, for a total of 140,000 square meters. All functions are independent of each other, but also highly integrated and complementary.

The city of Zhengzhou lies on the down stream of the yellow river and was once one of the eight ancient capitals, the largest cities in the central plain, which became an important hub and transit city. Holding deep roots in historic times, the concept for Zhengzhou’s Civic Center is one of an urban archipelago of city planning morphed into a multi-function economic development. The shape of the arena incorporates the form of a butterfly that spreads its wings, as reflected in the adjacent “Butterfly Lake.” The main arena and fitness center stand shoulder to shoulder and are located on either side of the primary landscape axis. The two pavilions are connected by a glass atrium and together with the outdoor plaza form the “Urban Citizens Living Room.”

Longhu Financial Island covers an area of about 1.5 square kilometers. The overall design of the area consists of one inner and one outer ring. While the inner ring is formed by arena-style buildings with a maximum height limit of 60 meters designed mainly for financial business and cultural entertainment, the outer ring is formed by high-rise buildings with a height limit 100 meters with a focus on business, financial office, hotel and service apartments. In the northern part of the area, there will be 240-meter-high twin towers, a supporting transportation hub for the surrounding areas, retail, office and entertainment facilities. The four plots of land along both sides of the inner lake axis will be used for cultural building projects.

The medical and health district is mainly located in the heart of the city, composed of hospitals, medical schools and scientific research complex. Through the study of international top hospitals and health cities, such as the United States Texas Medical Center, the United States Cleveland Clinic and Beijing International Medical Center, combined with the actual situation of the site, we decided that ChangZhuTan Region is the primary service space, and the surrounding five spaces are the secondary service space. According to the data we collected and estimated the demand, Zhaoshan Health Industrial Park planning hospitals are: multi-professional adult hospital, Hunan International Trauma Hospital, Hunan International Women and Children Hospital, Hunan International Children’s Hospital, International Neurology Professional Hospital, International Heart Vascular specialist hospital, Hunan International Cancer Hospital, Hunan International Infectious Diseases Hospital and Hunan Chinese medicine hospital. Total bed is 12501 by 2020 and around the hospital, planning and construction of a series of rehabilitation hotels for the use of rehabilitation patients.
SHAANXI YAN’AN CULTURAL TOURISM DISTRICT PLANNING This 31 square kilometers Tourism District is located along a river valley. Our plan divided the development into 6 main districts for planning: Ecological Experience District; Valley Health District; Mountain Adventure District; Old Yan’an Culture District; Commercial Center District; and the Red Educational District. The “Holy Valley” theme is run throughout the entire planning: Yan’an cave, traditional cuisine and drama, red Yan’an historical review, and a combination of mountain sports and health facilities.

NANDU HARBOR MASTER PLAN Situated in the up and coming district in Haikou, Hainan, the master plan takes advantage of the best views at the river frontage by placing the most populated programs near the water. With building typologies varying from SOHO (small office home office) type of commercial studios, larger office buildings, retail mall, to residential towers, the project consists of a variety of users. One important element was to separate the traffic not only between pedestrian and vehicular, but also between different users to provide best privacy and efficiency. Inspired by the river and waves, the overall planning has a take on two-dimensional rectilinear layout for maximum efficiency with the abstracted formal language of waves in the three-dimensional architecture.

The main theme of the master plan is to respect and protect the existing beautiful islands and their sensitive contexts, We plan the road system and placing the buildings along the flattest area as much as possible to minimize the disruption of the site. All buildings are grouped and oriented towards the lake views. We preserve the entire north side of the site untouched towards the main body of lake. All islands can be accessible via water taxi. We believe that all architecture here will be part of the overall landscape of beautiful lakes and islands. The buildings shall add value and beauty to the place, not compete with the natural beauty. Therefore no building will be too big or too tall. The maximum building height will be no taller than the tallest hilltop of the islands, our massing are controlled in scale and intended to break down any large programs into smaller groups. The required cut and fill of the existing islands will be engineered to minimize the impact to the existing landscape and preserve the natural beauty of the island.

FENGYUAN GAOWAN MASTER PLAN The master plan utilizes the space in between golf links to create pocket neighborhoods within the site. Creating several small pockets provides neighborhoods intimacy and maximizes the amount of golf-course-front property available for residences. In general, the planning approach creates smaller, identifiable neighborhoods within the larger context of each parcel.
