Political stability guarantees sustained, inclusive economic growth: Ahsan Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that political stability is imperative for sustained and inclusive growth in the country. In an interview, he said, “Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan is making rapid progress in every sector.” Ahsan Iqbal said, “Several energy projects are underway to meet growing demand of electricity in the country.” KP govt to construct hydel power station in Upper Dir The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to construct a hydel power station at Darora in Upper Dir. A spokesman of the provincial government said, “The power station will be constructed on River Panjkora. It will be completed at a cost of Rs3.7 billion by 2020.” He said, “The power station on completion will generate one hundred and fifty megawatt electricity. Feasibility study of the project has already been completed.” No load shedding to be carried out at commercial markets: K-lectric Representatives of K-Electric have assured the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) that no load shedding will be carried out at the Commercial Markets and Bazaars of the city during the remaining days of Ramazan ul Mubarak. HCBA urges UNHRC to send a fact-finding team to IOK The High Court Bar Association (HCBA) in occupied Kashmir has strongly condemned the recent killing of a student, Adil Farooq Magray, in the unprovoked firing of Indian troops on peaceful protesters at Ganapora in Shopian district. The HCBA spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, the Bar Association also condemns the use of indiscriminate force against peacefully protesting students in Pampore and Awantipora areas against Adil’s killing. The Bar Association also expresses its serious concern over the fake encounters taking place in the border areas of the Kashmir Valley in which Indian Army is killing people by labeling them as militants, he said. Earlier, Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Astana on side-lines of the SCO summit and discussed the bilateral relations. China, Russia agree to maintain regional security, stability through SCO’s promotion
China and Russia have agreed to maintain regional security and stability through promoting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s influence in the international and regional affairs. The agreement came after a meeting between Chinese
President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart, V la d i m i r P ut i n a hea d of the SCO summit in Kazakhstan. Both head of states pledged to promote the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Chinese President urged
the SCO to play a bigger role in Afghanistan’s peace and reconciliation process. The two heads of state also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and on the Korean Peninsula, as well as on other international and regional issues.
Pakistan and Sweden have agreed to enhance cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral international fora. The resolve was expressed during deliberations made at 15th round of Pakistan-Sweden Bilateral Political Consultations in Swedish capital Stockholm.

It was decided that these consultations would be held on a regular basis with the next round scheduled in Islamabad next year.
