However, that had the endorsement of only the CM. The role of the cabinet decision in this situation is necessary,” he said. “The only option that I had was to send the file back to the government so that they can send it back with constitutional compliance. As and when the file comes the matter will be considered in accordance with the constitution,” he

ment, TMC national spokesperson Sukhendu Sekhar Roy noted that Dhankhar had previously “sat over files” duly approved by people’s representatives, and returning the recommendation for assembly session was the latest move to “stall administrational work”. “He has also put on hold the bill seeking creation of Bally municipality. The recommendation for summoning the House has been made to him by the chief minister with due endorsement by the parliamentary affairs minister. How come

he inferred that it did not have the sanction of the cabinet?” Roy added. Dhankhar, who has been at loggerheads with the Mamata’s government since assuming the chair of governor, in a tweet on February 12, said that he had prorogued the Assembly. “In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sub-clause (a) of clause (2) of Art. 174 of the Constitution, I, Jagdeep Dhankhar, Governor of the State of West Bengal, hereby prorogue the West Bengal Legislative Assembly with effect from 12 February, 2022,” he had tweeted. Parliamentary affairs minister Partha Chatterjee had then clarified that Dhankhar took the decision on the advice of the council of ministers. In a jibe, Chatterjee also alleged that the governor had the “habit of bringing every action of Raj Bhavan and every communication in public domain.”

added.“Hon’ble CM Mamata Banerjee recommendation to summon assembly on March 7 had to be returned for constitutional compliance as Guv summons assembly on the recommendation made by the Cabinet after due compliance of Rules of Business under article 166(3) of constitution,” Dhankhar tweeted. The governor attached a letter that he wrote to the government as he sent back the file. “Only option was to remit file and for constitutional compliance,” he added. Expressing disappoint-

He said the garbage disposal capacity of the urban areas in the country has increased by four times since 2014. Modi was speaking after virtually inaugurating the Rs 150 crore 550-tonne capacity ‘gobar-dhan’ BioCNG plant, which is based on the concept of waste-towealth innovation, in Indore

However, when the Manipur assembly passed some bills, that went against NPF’s ideals, Dr. Shürhozelie said the four MLAs resigned following party’s directives. In the subsequent 11th Manipur Assembly election, he said three of those four MLAs lost to Congress candidates. “This was a big blunder as the people had voted the very party (Congress) which was working against the interest of the Naga people to bring it right back to power and completely forgot the sacrifices made by the four NPF MLAs in the preceding term. GBUD and DUCCF further warned Nagas to not patronize such dubious people as it was “disabling and draining our economy and destroying the future Naga posterity.” They said that the Naga society has already been burdened and pushed to its limit due to multiple taxation, menace of syndicate system and business monopoly leading to skyrocketing price rise.
