DIMAPUR, JUL 20 (NPN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Tuesday said the decision of the opposition NPF to join the PDA coalition government by “taking pretext of Naga political issue to converge into an opposition-less government” was an insult on the people of Nagaland. Only Myanmar returnees within Niki’s group counted, says WC DIMAPUR, JUL 20 (NPN): Working Committee of Naga national political groups (WC, NNPGs) has declared that it would count only 60 pre-December 26, 2020 Myanmar returnees of Niki Sümi’s group as genuine workers who deserved respect and appealed to all tribal hohos, civil society groups and the church to understand the fragile situation created by abnormal and forceful taxation by “dubious collectors” of Niki’s group. Mentioning that it was absolutely clear on its stand that all post-December 26, 2020 recruits of Niki’s group were men of questionable
character, conduct and reputations, WC in a press release declared that it would never consider them as Naga patriots. It also demanded that all defectors must return to their original organisations, while also insisting that Niki Sümi must walk the talk and find a way to think and act for future Naga generations. Allegedly pitch-forked by Indian military, WC said it did not wish any Naga group to be destroyed by “hastilygathered non-revolutionary elements”. Accepting Niki’s argument that he had listened to appeals made by Naga tribes
and civil society groups for peace to accept an honourable settlement and appreciating his declaration that he had no political agenda, WC said the problem was on the ground. And if his intention was what he said, the committee wanted to know why he was inviting and decorating “vagabonds, social outcasts, petty thieves, multiple defectors, rank/position collectors, proven traitors and morally bankrupt elements” into his fold. This was detrimental and demeaning to Niki himself and the Naga issue at large, the release added.
the state exchequer and enjoy the perks of office while delaying the implementation of Naga political solution.” Further, the party also alleged that NPF, which won 26 seats in 2018 assembly elections mainly on the plank of anti-Hindutva narrative, was “back to square one.” It reminded that NPF’s association with BJP began right since it(NPF) was formed and made BJP an alliance partner in DANI,DAN-II and DAN-III governments from 2003 to 2018. NPCC said the NPF’s continued association with BJP in Manipur since March 2017 had always tainted N P F ’ s (Cont’d on p-7)
