Withdraw Aug 3 NLA resolution: NPCC

TERMS IT AS BLANK CHEQUE FOR TERRITORIAL COUNCIL IN INTANGKI parties had concluded talks for Nagaland on October 31,2019. NPCC said while Naga stakeholders aspire for early solution and for one government and one tax; the state government, owing to its inability to enforce the law of the land, has instead chosen to “reverse the clock and adopt the route of compromise in the garb of facilitation.” In this, NPCC said the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) after ignoring all the agreements and talks for the past 24 years and the voice of the stakeholders, adopted a fivepoint resolution on August 3,2021, “demanding that the government of India resume talks.”

NPCC claimed there are enough hints on “carving out Territorial Council with Ntangki National Reserve Forest” and that the Nagaland Legislative Assembly resolution can be construed as “blank cheque approval to carve out Ntangki Territorial Council or otherwise.” According to NPCC, only parliament as per Article 3, has authority to increase or decrease or alter state boundaries or rename names. Therefore, considering all the above, the extended executive committee of NPCC resolved to demand that the NLA “withdraw the five-point resolution adopted on 3rd August, 2021.”

and setting of the Sun,” he said. “However, in modern times and in the eagerness to race ahead, man disturbed the balance of nature and caused great harm to the environment. If we want to re-establish a life in balance with nature, the path to this life can only be lit by our Sun. In order to protect the future of mankind, we must go together with the Sun,” he said. Calling for ‘One Sun, One World, One Grid’, Modi said it was the solution to tackle the challenge of solar power available only during the day. “In one hour, the earth’s atmosphere receives enough sunlight to power the electricity needed by every human being on earth for a year. This unlimited energy is completely clean and sustainable. The only challenge is that solar energy is only available during the day and is dependent on weather conditions. One Sun, One World, One Grid is a solution for this very challenge.

MENLO PARK, NOV 2 (AP): Facebook said it will shut down its face-recognition system and delete the faceprints of more than 1 billion people. “This change will represent one of the largest shifts in facial recognition usage in the technology’s history,” said a blog post Tuesday from Jerome Pesenti, vice president of artificial intelligence for Facebook’s new parent company, Meta. “More than a third of Facebook’s daily active users have opted in to our Face Recognition setting and are able to be recognized, and its removal will result in the deletion of more than a billion people’s individual facial recognition templates.” He said the company was trying to weigh the positive use cases for the technology “against growing societal concerns, especially as regulators have yet to provide clear rules.”

D I M A P U R , N OV 2 (NPN): Against the backdrop of general expectation of an impending settlement to the Naga political issue, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), held a meeting to deliberate on the matter at its extended executive committee meeting on October 29. According to chairman communication department of NPCC, the party observed that the Naga political settlement has taken a paradigm shiftearlier from historical aspiration of sovereignty and integration of all contiguous Naga inhabited areas, to now, threatening Nagaland state with infiltration and division. NPCC reminded that Nagaland state

NEW DELHI, NOV 2 (PTI): Emphasising that everything is created from Sun, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called for ‘One Sun, One World, One Grid’ to improve the viability of solar power and announced that India’s space agency ISRO will soon provide the world a calculator that can measure solar energy potential of any region across the globe. Addressing world leaders at the event ‘Accelerating Clean Technology Innovation and Deployment’ on the sidelines of the climate summit here, Modi said that fossil fuel powered many nations to become wealthy during the industrial revolution, but it made the earth and environment poor. “The industrial revolution was powered by fossil fuels. Several countries prospered by the use of fossil fuels but it also left our Earth and environment poorer. The race for fossil fuels also created geopolitical tensions. However, today,

was constituted as the 16th state of the Indian union on December 1,1963. NPCC said the Framework Agreement (FA) signed on August 3,2015 at the PM’s residence “agreed to settle the political problem within union of India and that interstate boundaries shall not be changed”. NPCC said this confirmed the claim and stand of the government of India, that “sovereignty and integration are non-negotiable.” In the light of the above, NPCC said the Working Committee (WC) of the 7-member NNPGs also signed the Agreed Position (AP) with the government of India on November 17,2017 and that both

technology has presented us with a better alternative,” he said. Citing the ‘Suryopanishad’ during his address, Modi said that everything was born from Sun, Sun is the only source of energy and solar energy can take care of everyone. “In India, it has been mentioned in the ancient text, in the Suryopanishad, that everything is created from the Sun, the source of all energy is the Sun and it is the energy from the Sun that nurtures all. Ever since there has been life on earth, the life cycle of all living beings, the daily routine has been linked with the rising

ment polytechnic at Aboi was functioning without a single teaching staff, but students were made to join class with other polytechnics through online mode. Stating that other polytechnic colleges were functioning with smart board and smart class, ENCSU has, however, said that Aboi polytechnic was without any educator, which it described was “a pure form of ‘discrimination’.” Further, ENCSU pointed out Wak-

ching New Model College, which was inaugurated on February 3, 2019, was still lying paralyzed. The union said several representations had been submitted, but the responsible authority chose to turn a deaf ear to its genuine demand. In the light of the above, the ENCSU has sought clarification from the directorate and state government as to why Aboi polytechnic was still without a
