Dimapur police recovers body
DIMAPUR: Dimapur police on April 3 recovered an unidentified dead body of a male aged between 55-60 years, found lying near the 2nd gate at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
A press release by Dimapur police PRO informed that the deceased was wearing white coloured checked long shirt, ash coloured half sweater, white vest, sky blue underwear and blue coloured formal pant.

foul play could be established, and added that the deceased was “highly suspected” to have died of starvation.
On completion of all legal formalities, PRO said the dead body has been shifted to District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
Further, PRO has asked claimant/relatives/friends of the deceased to contact the officer-in-Charge, East Police Station, Dimapur at 7085055020.
DIMAPUR: Kohima police arrested two persons and seized heroin worth around Rs. 3 crore at Khuzama Inter-State Check gate on Tuesday.
PRO of Kohima police said that police personnel manning Khuzama Inter-State check gate during routine checking intercepted a vehicle (Toyota Fortuner; ML11- 1111) bound to Guwahati from Imphal. On frisking of the vehicle, 220 soap cases of heroin weighing approximately 2.6 kilos concealed in the vehicle were recovered. The value of the illegal contraband in the national market was estimated to be around Rs. 3 crore, PRO said.
The two arrested with the drugs and vehicle.
In this connection, two persons- Taj Uddin (23) and Dhundreimayum Nawaz (25) were arrested and the vehicle along with the contraband were seized. Accordingly, a case under NDPS Act has been registered at Khuzama Police Station for further investigation. of SDPDB under his chairmanship Tuesday at DB Hall Pughoboto.
Dr. Sukhato also assured to extend financial support to the students, and encouraged youths to give special focus on games and sports.
The newly elected MLA also thanked the electorates for electing him and asked them for their continued support in fulfilling the needs of Pughoboto sub-division.
During the meeting, the house deliberated on various agenda like construction of GA rest house, improvement of road from Kashanyu junction to Pughoboto, creation of subtreasury office, creation of SBI at Pughoboto, upgradation of Adhoc town council to town council, setting of fire station, sub jail and land resources department. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by SDO (C), R. Daniel Angami.
