DTF Dimapur further cautioned that ‘total lockdown’ will be re-imposed if people did not adhere to the SOPs and other COVID protocols. Besides implementing other safety measures, DTF also suggested that place plastic sheets be placed wherever possible between the shopkeeper and customers as a precautionary measure. WSH also called for early installation of the dialysis machine donated by them. In response DC Dimapur informed the meeting that the process would be completed within a week.

In a representation addressed to the state chief minister, the four CSOs stated that DC Dimapur Anoop Khinchi had been leading from the front since the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic and had been guiding all activities pertaining to the efforts relating to containment of the pandemic. As the ongoing total lockdown in Dimapur will end on August 2, the DTF Friday decided impose partial lockdown with strict measures in place from August 3. and subsequent movement of people to their respective native places were also done “with great deal of efficacy.” CSO said the leadership exhibited by DC as the head of the district task force was “quite commendable.” Further, they claimed that the general public of Dimapur was “most appreciative of the manner” with which the DC handled the pandemic situation particularly by adopting a humane approach and ensuring participation of all sections of the society. As the administrative head of the district, they said the incumbent DC was more aware of the ground reality and gained sufficient experience to confront all kinds of emergency situation that could arise in the near future. CSOs asserted that removing an officer with such huge responsibilities at this juncture would prove to be disastrous not only for the district but also for the entire state.
DDCF: Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has expressed resentment over the “rapid change” of deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur and said that transfer and posting of DC has become like “a musical chair game.” In a press release, DDCF president Yibemo Kikon and general secretary Richard Haolai said that DC Dimapur has been changed twice within 18 months (January 11, 2019 to July 30, 2020) for reason(s) best known to the concerned authority. DDCF said Dimapur district would see three DCs within two years time. The forum also lamented the transfer of DC, who is also the head of the district task force, during the current COVID-19 pandemic. DDCF has, therefore, appealed to the state government to treat the district of Dimapur more seriously with more stable administration.
