In a press statement issued to the media houses, NSCN (K) MIP has claimed that the “Naga army cadres gunned down 5-6 Indian army commandos” in heavy exchange of fire, that took place on Friday from 3.30 a.m. to 6 a.m. The MIP said its cadres manning the forward security post thwarted the attack by the 12 Para commandos of the India army after they intruded in to Naga Myanmar area. The commandos tried to launch an attack “after walking one and half hour into Naga Myanmar area, after crossing Thorloi the first border village well inside Naga Myanmar.” However, MIP said the Naga army first spotted the commandos and fired upon the advancing team, killing five to six of them. “The advancing commandos were pinned down helplessly and the rest ran helter-skelter in commotion. The random and blank retaliation proved futile because of our well defended higher position,” MIP stated. It further claimed that the commandos tried to regroup to counter attack but were forced to retreat. NSCN (K) also claimed that the retreating commandos carried the casualties and injured on foot till the border.

Zoramthanga on Wednesday claimed that the Centre and the Myanmarese government had urged him to initiate a peace deal with the NSCN (K). “It was the unilateral decision of the NSCN (K) to abrogate the 14-year-old ceasefire, now the government of India has no-plan to reenter into a ceasefire agreement with the NSCN (K),” an authoritative sources in the PMO told The Asian Age. Eustar Chishi Swu attends peace talks Tinakali Sumi
DIMAPUR, AUG 19 (NPN): In an interesting development, the NSCN (I-M) for the first time has included, Eustar Chishi Swu the wife of its chairman late Isak Chishi Swu at the talks held with Government of India’s Interlocutor R.N. Ravi on Friday in New Delhi. According to reliable sources, Eustar along with NSCN (I-M) leaders led by ato kilonser Th. Muivah attended the meeting. Government of India Interlocutor for Naga Talks R.N. Ravi represented the Government of India. As reported earlier, sources informed that the meeting discussed NSCN (I-M)’s demand for integration of Naga territories. It may be noted that NSCN (I-M) had virtually threatened to walk out of the process for solution unless its demand for integration of Naga contiguous areas were accepted as part of the deal. According to reliable sources, NSCN (I-M) leaders led by Th. Muivah have made it clear to government of India’s Interlocutor R.N. Ravi that they were ready to walk out of ongoing peace talks if the government of India did not consider integration of Nagas’ land. Sources disclosed that both the entities were now talking seriously about integration of Nagas land in the face of an adamant stand adopted by the NSCN (I-M) which has coined another slogan “No integration, No solution.”
on Zoramthanga’s claim on the Myamarese government approaching him. The Indian government has not asked him to approach the NSCN (K), sources confirmed. Zoramthanga was lobbying for his appointment as interlocutor in the ongoing peace talks with the insurgent groups in Assam, security sources said, adding that the government of India was firm on its stand about not engaging with any separatist group resorting to violence. Security sources further said that the government of India was in touch with Myanmar and taking initiatives to stop North East insurgent groups from using its territory for antiIndia activities. After abrogating the ceasefire in March 2015, NSCN (K) launched several attacks on Indian soldiers in Nagaland and Manipur.
