In an open letter, STPF president, S.Yanhokiu and general secretary, K.Hankiu expressed surprise that construction has been “forsaken” just after erecting the pillar, which has left “stupefaction” within the entire denizens. The forum claimed that the only requisite medical centre in the area has been neglected due to lackadaisical attitude of the authorities instead of accelerating the construction work. It stated that despite appeal to the assigned contractor for early completion there was no response which led to remonstrance within the communities in general. In this regard, STPF urged the Health and Family Welfare department “to ponder on the matter what is desisting or hindering the resuming and finishing of the requisite building in early hour”, and complete the construction within the time frame.

DIMAPUR, DEC 14 (NPN): Core Committee on Rationalisation of Reservation Policy (CCoRoRP) has served a 72-hour deadline on the State government to implement the six-point proposition, failing which it threatened to launch lightning strike and protest. This was contained in a letter addressed to the chief minister by CCoRoRP comprising of five apex students’ tribe associationsAo Students’ Conference (AKM), All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK), Angami Students’ Union (ASU), Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) and Rengma Students’ Union (RSU). CCoCoRP stated that the government should not hold the CCoRoRP responsible for any unfore-

Cut off mark on Reservation quota with no backlog vacancy on roaster system and 6. Time framed review of reservation policy. CCoRoRP has demanded an effective body to be instituted to address the pressing matter and to effectively implement the proposition immediately. It also demanded a written assurance within 72 hours. have begun talks on forming a national opposition platform against the Centre and the BJP with an eye on the next general elections, it is learnt. The move comes even as the Congress leadership vacillates and struggles to put its own house in order since the 2019 Lok Sabha rout, reports The Economic Times. Potential partners have over many weeks held consultations on the proposal on bringing together a number of regional parties facing political, electoral and administrative aggression of the BJP and the Centre. Among those involved or approached include Trinamool Congress, TRS, Shiv Sena, NCP, BJD, SP, SAD, JDS and other likeminded regional outfits, (Cont’d on p-8) sources said.
CCoRoRP said that every individual needed to seriously work as responsible stakeholders to bring positive changes in the society. It said that the modern Naga society was in the process of a developing civilization ever since the British expedition into the Naga hills followed with evangelization and the advent of modern education by the American missionaries beginning from 1832, in which some got evolved two or more centuries ago and some much even lesser. Pointing out that it took time for any civilization to evolve, CCoRoRP, however, said that each tribe was in this together and nothing could stop this naturally evolving progression.
No retrograde step against agri sector: Govt New Delhi, Dec 14 (PTI): Farmer leaders on Monday went on a daylong hunger strike and their colleagues demonstrated in different parts of the country to push for a rollback of the new farm laws, as Union minister Rajnath Singh said there is no question of the government ever taking any “retrograde step” against the agriculture sector. On Day 19 of the protest at Delhi’s border points when agriculturalists from multiple states in the north intensified their movement, particularly at Delhi’s gateways, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said the government is engaging with them to decide on the next date of talks – deadlocked after five rounds. “The meeting will definitely happen. farmers. “There is no question of taking retrograde steps against our agricultural sector ever… We are, however, always willing to listen to our farmer brothers, allay their misgivings and provide them with assurances,” he said.
