NPCC blames NPF-BJP for crisis
DIMAPUR, FEB 14 (NPN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has strongly come out against Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleging that both were responsible for the creating the “entire mess” in the state. NPCC through its media cell said both NPF and BJP were adamant to play with fire to further their interest even when people’s lives were at great peril. NPCC said people needed to realize that NPF has lost its regional identity after submitting itself to the dictates of BJP high command even in internal party crisis. They (NPF & BJP) were two sides of the same coin, NPCC added. NPCC said it was not going to politicize such issues, but maintained that it could not remain a silent spectator when the people were bearing the brunt of the NPF government that was “fully responsible” for the turn of events and the “opportunistic central BJP leadership prolonging the crisis to fish in troubled waters.”

They further asked those “men power” be bold enough to come out with a tangible solution, saying peace and tranquillity was the need of the hour and not their chairs. Another woman near DC court junction said, as daughters, mothers, wives, sisters and grandmothers, it was absolutely right and necessary to voice out “our concerns for our future generations” and not to fight
for some vested interest who wanted reservation. Further, an emotionally charged up women group in anger said “if chief minister failed to step down, he should bring to life those killed in Dimapur and Longleng, who became victims due to his shortsightedness.” The group further pointed out that 33% women reservation had only brought bloodshed and chaos in the society, allaying
NPF pooh-pooh Rio’s Delhi meeting DIMAPUR, FEB 14 (NPN): Drawing attention to news reports that Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio was summoned to Delhi for consultations with Central leaders, NPF through its Media & Press Bureau said he was summoned only to be asked to “diffuse” the situation at his meeting with “NSA Ajit Duval (Doval) and Centre’s Interlocutor for talks with NSCN (I-M) R.N. Ravi”. NPF M&P Bureau also claimed that after this news began circulating in the “social media” many heaved a sigh of relief and called up its office to confirm the news. It also claimed that Rio was “told in no uncertain manner” that there was no question of change of leadership (CM) and that
he as MP, ought to “work hand in hand with Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang to ease the tension.” Basing its claims on “BJP sources” it said union home minister Rajnath Singh had “indicated to Rio” that he must do all he can, to ease what it described as “weeks-long social movement”. NPF fur ther cited Asian Age report (February 14) where home ministry told Rio that the fate of the T.R. Zeliang government would be “decided only by the strength of legislators and not by protests on the streets.” NPF reiterated that the “movement” by apex Naga tribe organisations has “donned a political shade” after agitators began demanding the resignation of
T.R. Zeliang. It attacked four MLAs whom it described as “four former dissident NPF legislators” for seeking the revocation of suspension of Rio and Imkong L. Imchen, so as to ease the prevailing situation. Unrelenting in its attack on K.T. Velie, NPF described him as “personal secretary to former chief minster Neiphiu Rio and convenor of the hurriedly formed Nagaland Tribes Action Committee (NTAC), the organisation spearheading the agitation in Kohima.” Summing its vitriolic attacks, NPF said NTAC had gone down to Dimapur where it was holding meeting with JCC till late evening and also that both NTAC and JCC were planning to visit Delhi.
AYO takes on govt, NPF central
KOHIMA, FEB 14 (NPN): Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has accused the state government of “acting like Hitler Nazi Germany era” employing all subversive measures and propaganda to the extent of “unleashing (Cont’d on p-8) murderous state sponsored terror.” Reacting to the NPF central press statement, the AYO through its media cell said it was amused by the “dramatic display of extreme folly and toddlers languages by the NPF Central.” AYO said the NPF central was unaware that the present issue was a peoples’ movement against the government. It said the NPF central body “shamelessly” had the audacity to brand the much respected Naga tribal “He exercised his faith bodies sincerely working to the wrong way-praying for “salvage our people” as “a matter of sheer unadulterpostponement of exams.” ated comedy.”
This is it!

According to Angami Youth Organization, NPF central today stood condemned for holding the illusion that a mass public movement cannot shake the government for its unjust, manipulative and scheming policies. The organisation said that the voice of the people can never be suppressed. Meanwhile, the AYO said it was deeply offended by personal attack on KT Villie, vice president APO and NTAC convener, who was once an official PS to former chief minister of Nagaland. AYO reminded the NPF central that Vilie was selected by the Angami people to lead and represent Angami community in the Angami and NTAC levels. Therefore, AYO said that allegations levelled against him were a direct challenge to Angami tribe itself and the Nagas at large.
Further, AYO said the NPF press statement was devoid of any substance and value, adding that it was only a representation of their “deranged mind” as their stubborn refusal to address the core issue of the imbroglio clearly exposed.
AYO warns hotels
Taking serious note of the reports that some hotels in Kohima were harbouring legislators, the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) on Tuesday warned all hotels in Kohima not to harbour/entertain political parties or government departments for any meetings. Zeliang on or before February 17. In the event the MLAs failed to comply with the demand, the committees said the respective tribal bodies would debar them from entering their jurisdiction in the next election.
