Khulu and former spokesman Yanghose Sangtam said that their suspension was “malicious intent, dictatorial in nature and a flagrant violation or rules as contained in the constitution of the BJP party”. dent Visasolie Lhoungu cannot take action on his own. They also clarified on the allegation that slogan were shouted against central leaders was completely false and concocted as none of the placards featured any names or mention of the central leaders, which can be testified in the photos published in the media. Further, the three stated that Lhoungu “dictatorial behaviour” had created crisis in the party, which was evident in the suspension on nine senior office bearers without following any norms. Therefore, the suspended members reiterated that the demand for immediate change of leadership was good for the party and to stop the national party from further embarrassment.

Dimapur, Jun 1 (NPN): Several civil society and business organisations have reminded the Dimapur Municipal Council and the Municipal Affairs Department (MAD) that any attempt to lease out toll tax collection will invite non-cooperation from the civil society and business community, who are stakeholders. come job providers and not job seekers. Earlier, Parliamentary Secretary, Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Laisam Samai challenged the Naga students to be ambassadors of peace and do something for the Naga society and the state of Nagaland. Laisam Samai, who graced the 27th NSF General Conference as the theme guest on Thursday, said that it is the duty of the students to bring peace in the society and northeast region of India. He urged upon the student communities to look
at the bigger picture, compromise on the small differences among the different northeast communities and move ahead for peace and prosperity in the region.
They therefore maintained that toll tax should not be leased to any private party/ middle man at any cost. According to the signatories, the reason for their stand was based on the following: 1. That with toll collected by DMC has resulted in visible development and facelift of roads, drainage, designated dustbins, culver and overall improvement in sanitation of Dimapur. 2. That it was unjustified and ridiculous for public to have to pay commission for toll tax collection to middlemen when DMC itself has enough manpower under its payroll 3. The signatories reminded of the earlier showdown between civil society and government due to mishandling of ULB election and therefore reminded government that civil society was in no mood to confront government on the toll tax issue. The ten organisations said any attempt to lease out toll tax collection to a private party will be seen by them as “nothing but vested interest of certain individual above development and welfare of the public and therefore anti-people and development.”
Cattle trade rule nothing to do with ECI nationwide special drive states’ cow slaughter laws: Jaitley
NEW DELHI/TARAKESHWAR, JUN 1 (PTI): The row over beef eating and cattle trade kept the political cauldron astir today (Cont’d on p-9) despite Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s attempt to calm frayed tempers by insisting the new central notification will not interfere with state laws on slaughtering animals. Following several days of protests, particularly in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Jaitley told a press conference in New Delhi that the ban imposed by the Centre on sale and purchase of cattle from animal markets for slaughter had nothing to do with state legislations. The animal markets “While in service God are meant for farmers and blessed you with much not for traders, he said, addw e a l t h s o y o u c a n ing that “this is the only efjoin politics to serve fect of the notification”. people.” “Every state has its

own legislation or no legislation (with regard to slaughter of cattle). You have provision in the Constitution Article 48 (Directive Principles) which says that certain category of animals have to be protected,” Jaitley said. Prohibition of cow slaughter mentioned in Article 48 of the Constitution is not an enforceable article, but a Directive Principle of State Policy. West Bengal’s feisty Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has been at the forefront of the opposition’s attack on the ban, added a new twist to the row, claiming the Centre was planning to omit buffalo from the abmit of its notification to favour “certain people close to BJP” involved in trade of its meat. “Some people close to the BJP are involved in
the buffalo meat trade and that is why, they (Centre) are planning to allow the slaughter of buffaloes,” she told a public meeting in Tarakeshwar in West Bengal. Assailing vigilantism in the name of cow protection, she said,”The BJP has got only 29 per cent of the votes, but they are trying to bulldoze the entire people. Who are they to decide what one will eat? Who are they to decide what one will wear? It is a matter of personal choice.” Notwithstanding Jaitley’s attempt to pacify those angry at the ban, a top leader of the RSS, the BJP’s ideological mentor, denounced “beef parties” being organised to protest the Modi government’s measure as “against humanity”, and suggested that they “should change their ways”.

In a press release, KSU president, Loungai Wangnao , and press secretary, PhongLan Konyak, said the district education officer (DEO), who was supposed to shoulder the responsibility of the entire district, was transferred without reliever on August 31, 2014.
