DIMAPUR: Minister of Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom, has called for the first state review meeting with the consultant, contractors, and state officials along with secretary H&FW to review the project progress of Medical College, Phriebagei (MCP) and TCCC NHAK on March 7. An official press release stated that during the meeting held at IDSP hall, directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Pangnyu expressed that whatever has been deliberated to rec-
tify the prevailing issues should be implemented to accelerate the project faster and also encouraged them to work harder for the success of the project. He regretted that projects were facing many untoward hardship especially concerning the land instability, which is delaying the project progress. However, he encouraged them not to be discouraged by the practical problem and work harder so that completion of the project as per the expected timeline can be achieved.
The project update of Nagaland Medical College was presented by the consultant and open discussion with the contractor and the department has been initiated in the meeting. Earlier in the morning the officers under directorate of Health & Family Welfare led by principal director (PD), Dr. Vizolie Z. Suokhrie inspected the Medical College site. PD stated that all officers should be aware of the ongoing project and need to be aware of the situation and be informed.
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) has re-dedicated to uphold its motto of “Justice For All” and to achieve its main goal for an early completion of the Nagaland High Court, Govt. Law College and a directorate of Prosecution in the state. A press release from NLSF president, C. Talimoa and information & publicity secretary, Renbeni Ezung stated, this decision was made during its presidential meeting held on March 7 in Dimapur. NLSF stated that, the lackadaisical attitude of the concerned authorities of the state government towards law students have led to the
non-accomplishment of demands of the law federation. It further added that without a Govt. Law College, the students’ community, especially those from the impoverished sections of the society and from far flung locations were facing much hardship in pursuing law studies in the state. NLSF expressed concerned that despite the passage of more than 57 years since attaining statehood, Nagaland was yet to have a Government Law College, which the NLSF has been pursuing for many years to the concerned authorities of the state govt. for establishment of a Govt/Public Law College in the state.
Campaign on EMTCT held at Meluri village
DIMAPUR: Campaign on “Elimination of mother to child transmission (EMTCT): HIV and syphilis” was held on March 6 at village council hall, Meluri. According to DIPR report, resource persons from DAPCU Phek and Project AHANA shared the basics of HIV and means of eliminating new transmission and services available to the pregnant women and HIV patients. Around 130 women and 30 men attended the campaign. The campaign is sponsored by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) and organised by District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) Phek and organised to eliminate new transmission from mother to child by 2020 itself.
DPDB meetings held in Tuensang, Longleng DIMAPUR: Tuensang DPDB monthly meeting was held on March 7 in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant. According to DIPR report, during the meeting, DC highlighted about the seriousness of Corona Virus (Covid-19) which was spreading rapidly across the globe. He said that the threat was real and asked to avoid gatherings, shaking hands and urged public not to panic. In this connection, a district task force committee was formed to chalk out the plan. The meeting focused on new agenda such as registration of society was forwarded to the government for necessary action and the construction of welcome gate at Longkhim town was forwarded to chairman DPDB. DC also discussed about Poshan Pakhwada to sensitize the people on nutrition and health and asked all the stake holders to make it a success in the district. Tuensang district has been selected as the top 25 district in the country for implementation of the BBBP programme.

Longleng: Longleng district planning & development board meeting was held under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner, M. Shayung Phom on March 6 at DC’s conference hall. According to DIPR report, DC highlighted various instructions and preventive measures issued by both the centre and state government after reports of Coronavirus infection in the country. NSCN (I-M) condolence DIMAPUR: NSCN (I-M) has mourned the untimely demise of late Huidinang Abonmai, member of steering committee from Taupong village, under Makuilongdi region on March 6 and late S. Samuel, Razou Peyu from Lakhamai village under Sepoumaramth region on March 5 A press release by NSCN (I-M) through its MIP stated that both members had served the Naga nation with unwavering national spirit and that
the void created by their demise would be difficult to fill in. Further, GPRN stated that their names would be recorded in the pages of Naga history for their selfless contribution to the Naga national cause and their sacrifices for Naga nation will be cherished by all. GPRN conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that the Almighty would grant their souls eternal peace and rest.
USR & ESH holds meeting on present political problem DIMAPUR: United Sangtam Region (USR) and Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) held a meeting at Dimapur on March 6, to discuss the present political problem and confusion among the Nagas at the present juncture. A press release from CAO USR, NSCN Thronglise Sangtam stated that, both the parties prayed that Naga brothers and sisters would come together for peaceful Naga political solution. USR led by T. T. Hospital Longleng to tackle the virus. CMO Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla asserted that isolation ward was reserved in the district hospital and other strategies like training of two nurses exclusively for that purpose was done. She also informed on preventive measures like maintaining personal hygiene such as proper hand washing with soap, proper use of masks and disposal of masks after five hours of use. Medical superintendent of DHL, Dr. Lhouvizoto Belho also apprised the members and stated that there was no cure for
the virus, as such only basic preventive measures is taken up in the hospital. In connection with the frequent outbreak of fire incident in recent years and location of Fire Service station in the outskirt of the town, the Senior Citizens Forum of Longleng has proposed for emergency fire brigade in the heart of Longleng town for timely response to such incidents in the future. In this regard, the board decided to find a suitable location in consultation with administration, Police and civil societies of the district. The board also recommended for upgrada-
tion of PHC Yongnyah to CHC. Vice President Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) also proposed for immediate posting of treasury officer to Longleng, celebration of Mini Hornbill Festival in the district, enforcement of strict traffic regulation to stop random parking and checking of inflow of banned consignments in the district by the Excise department. HoD & DDOs also shared the problems faced by their departments due to the absence of TO since December 2019. In connection to inflow of banned consignments, the SP and ADC Longleng asserted that check gates were removed in the state and shared that it was impossible to control without check gates. They suggested resuming the check gates in the district and also seeking the cooperation and support of the churches and NGOs like PPC, PSC and Phomla Hoichen to conduct joint search operation in the town and roads. Manager DIC, Longleng, Akaba Sangtam informed that mega exhibition & seminar on handicraft & agri products will be held in the district from March 25 to 26.
Weeklong training on ToT culminated at Longleng DIMAPUR: A weeklong training of trainers (ToT) for Agronomy, Soil & Water Conservation which began on March 3 at district agricultural officer (DAO) Longleng culminated on March 7. According to DIPR report, resource persons for the Agronomy & Terrace Rice Cultivation were Pongkam Phom, Lanuakum and C. Amei Phom. Pongkam Phom imparted training on package of practices for ginger, mustard, banana and upland rice while Lanuakum imparted on sustainable terrace rice cultivation, nursery preparation for terrace
cultivation, paddy cum fish and snail cultivation, terrace design and plot design, and C. Amei Phom spoke on nutrients management through azolla& green manuring plants, enriched composting & vermin compost, nursery management of vegetable crops and agro forestry principles for fallow management and insects & diseases management. dent stated that late Chuba was “a veteran regionalist, who was once an associate press secretary during the UDF time”. NNC/FGN adopts threepoint resolution DIMAPUR: NNC/FGN during its 68th tatar hoho held at Dimapur on March 5, unanimously re-elected ‘brig’ (retd) S. Singnya and Zhopra Vero as the kedahge and the kedallo of the FGN respectively. A press release from FGN, ministry of rali wali affairs stated that, a threepoint resolution were adopted during the tatar hoho session. The house unanimously resolved and reaffirmed its unflinching support to the ongoing talks between the GoI and the NNPGs. It also resolved that Zhopra Vero, kedallo FGN and P. Delving into Computer forensic analysis in detail, he said that “forensic” implies “to bring to the court.” Amer later mentioned that legal authority must be available with the first responder and forensic analyst to identify and seize the suspected system or digital device for imaging and analysis of the digital evidence. In this regard, he elaborated on role of first responders.
