Aadhaar data of 13 cr, bank account details leaked, says report M U M B A I , M AY 2 (Agencies): Aadhaar numbers of over 13 crore people and bank account details of about 10 crore of them have been leaked through government portals owing to poor security practices, putting these people at risk of financial frauds as well as identity thefts. According to a report published by The Center for Internet and Society, four government websites namely those run by National Social Assistance Programme under Ministry of Rural Development, National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) run by Ministry of Rural Development, Daily Online Payment Reports under NREGA (Govt. of Andhra Pradesh) and Chandranna Bima Scheme run by Government of Andhra Pradesh combined were responsible for publicly exposing personal and Aadhaar details of over 13 crore citizens. While these numbers are only from two major government programmes of pensions and rural employment schemes, other major schemes that have also used Aadhaar for DBT could have leaked PII similarly due to lack of information security practices, the report warns.

Over a thousand Angami tribesmen clad in their unique cultural attires joined in the celebrations. The celebration was a significant and a historic one as it marked a new era of peace and unity among various communities in the state. The celebration was held under the ae-

gis of Ao Senden with the participation of APO. The APO represented by all four ranges numbering around 1200 members attended the celebration today. The celebration was also graced by APO president Dr. Vilhusa Seleyi as guest of honour. The inherent spirit of love that man should love his neighbors as himself is the approach towards a brighter future of our people. 3. With conviction, we also recognize that our unity is the only process to bring healing and development. 4. Nagas are one and can never be otherwise. And believe that building bridges towards internal peace is the first essential step for achieving long term and sustainable peace in Nagaland. 5. It is an established fact that our political situation is at a very complex state which requires all Naga communities to give effort towards finding solution to the many issues and challenges our society is wrestling with. In this regard, the apex bodies said that “this festival embodies the fostering of unity of Nagas beyond Ao Senden and APO.”

Nagaland to get 4 new ITIs Spl. Correspondent

NEW DELHI, MAY 2 (NPN): Nagaland has proposed setting up of four Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state in addition to its earlier allocation of two ITIs by the centre. Lotha called on the former at Delhi on Tuesday. On the proposal on new ITIs, the union minister said that Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will take step to establish the two additional ITIs. It may be noted that Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has formulated a scheme titled “Enhancing skill development infrastructure in NE States and Sikkim” to set up 22 new ITIs in the North Eastern region. We will respond to Pak at a time and place of our choosing: Army NEW DELHI, MAY 2 (AGENCIES): Pakistan will have to face the consequences of mutilating bodies of two Indian soldiers and the Army will respond to the dastardly act at a time and place of its choosing, Vice-Chief of Army Staff Sarath Chand said on Tuesday. He said the killing of the two soldiers and beheading them showed frustration of the Pakistan military and asserted that it will never be able to justify the action. “I do not want to say what we will do. Instead of speaking, we will focus on our action at a time and place of our choosing,” he told reporters. He was replying to questions on possible retaliation by the Indian Army over the Pakistani action. “They (Pakistani army) have said it was not done by their forces. Then who did it. Their people came to our area and did it. They will have to take responsibility and face consequences for it,” Chand said. Earlier in the day, the Indian Army told the Pakistani military that mutilating bodies of the two soldiers

was a “dastardly and inhuman act” which called for a response and unequivocal condemnation. Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen AK Bhatt spoke to his Pakistan counterpart and expressed “grave concern” about the killing and beheading of the two soldiers in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. “The DGMO of the Indian Army conveyed that such a dastardly and inhuman act is beyond any norms of civility and merits unequivocal condemnation and response,” the Army said in a statement. The DGMO also conveyed to his Pakistani counterpart that “full fire” support was provided by the Pakistani army post located in the vicinity of the incident site. The Indian Army has already vowed an “appropriate” response to the “despicable act”. The Pakistan army has denied that it was involved in the attack. Defence Minister Arun Jaitley had said+ on Monday that the “sacrifice (of the two killed) will not go in

vain” and the Indian armed forces will react “appropriately” to the “inhuman act” of the Pakistani troops. “This is a reprehensible and an inhuman act. Such attacks don’t even take place during war, let alone during peace time. Bodies of soldiers being mutilated is an extreme form of barbaric act,” the defence minister said. Discussing the issue during the hotline contact between the two DGMOs, the Pakistan Army asked India to produce “actionable evidence” on its claim that a Pakistani special forces team had sneaked across the LoC and beheaded the two Indian security personnel. “Pakistan rejected India’s allegations of ceasefire violation and mutilation of bodies of Indian soldiers,” the army statement said. “The Pakistan army is a professional military outfit and upholds the highest standards of conduct. Allegations of mutilation are an Indian attempt to divert the attention of world from situation within the Kashmir valley,” Pakistan DGMO Maj Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza claimed.

Border fencing illegal encroachment: Longon

DC Dmu directs Aadhaar centres

Staff Reporter

D I M A P U R , M AY 2 (NPN): Dimapur district administration has noted that a number of unauthorised Aadhaar enrolment centres have come up in the district without prior approval of the government charging huge amount of money from the citizens and also capturing Biometric for those without proper documents such as suspected IBIs and also residents of Assam. In this regard, the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur, Kseonyu Yhome, has directed all such Aadhaar enrolment centres to obtain permission from the state registrar and commissioner Nagaland. Further, DC has requested all the citizens of Dimapur to report to the authority if any such centres were operating in the locality as Aadhaar enrolment was supposed to be free (except for correction).

DIMAPUR, MAY 2 (NPN): Nagaland minister for Health and Family Welfare (H&FW), P. Longon, on Tuesday termed as “illegal encroachment” the border fencing work at Pangsha, under Tuensang district. He contended that since Nagaland and its land were protected by Article 371A of the Indian Constitution, the government of India should have consulted the landowners before undertaking such activities. The minister made this remark while addressing the 19th General Conference of the Eastern Nagaland Gazetted Officers’ Association (ENGOA) here at Niathu Resort Tuesday as chief guest. Longon, who hails from Pangsha, asserted that the boundary issue could be between two sovereign nations -- India and Myanmar, but Nagaland was an exception under Article 371A. Therefore, he said that the landowners should have been consulted prior to taking up the fencing project. On the occasion, the minister also expounded on the role

P. Longon (NP)

and importance of Eastern Naga Peoples Organisation (ENPO) in addressing various issues plaguing the Eastern Nagas. While appreciating ENPO, Longon reiterated the need to strengthen the apex body of Eastern Nagaland. Further, the minister also pointed out that unity was a prerequisite for peace, development and progress in the area. He also likened the four Eastern Nagaland bodies as a family: ENPO-father, ENGOA-mother, ENWO-daughter and ENSF-son, with ENLU being the “peon”. In his speech, ENPO presi-

dent, S Khoiwang, who graced the occasion as guest of honour, maintained that ENPO derived power from ENGOA, terming the latter as “backbone” of ENPO and its federating units. He also sought suggestions and advice from the ENGOA on various issues, including the International border issue. Khoiwang also reminded ENGOA that it has a huge responsibility -- an indispensible role -- towards uplift of the area. ENWO president, Birila Tokiu, and ENSF president, Sepili L. Sangtam, who were the special guests of the occasion also spoke at the function. Earlier, ENGOA president, Er. S. Changkei Konyak, in his presidential address, said that jealousy, ignorance about joy of giving and selfishness would only bring destruction. He also underlined the role and responsibility of ENGOA to guide its people. During the conference, the N.I Jamir Award for excellence in government service in Eastern Nagaland was also presented. The inaugural function was followed by a business session.

Fruits you should never have together Internal rift within AAP fold widens NEW DELHI, MAY 2 (AGENCIES): We all think that a bowl of fruits and vegetables is the best kind of meal one can have. We chop all the fruits and salad vegetables that our refrigerator has, squeeze a lime, add a dash of salt and we believe it to be the healthiest ever. But is this the right way to go about it? Acidic, sweet or neutral - If this isn’t how you categorize your fruits when combining them, you need a lesson in how to go about your salads. First of all, you shouldn’t mix fruits and vegetables with each other. Second of all, you shouldn’t even combine certain fruits with each other. This basically depends on the speed of digestion of different fruits and vegetables. Many permutations that you are making are perhaps hindering optimal digestion and assimilation. Here’s how you can decide what to pull

in that bowl of yours the next time. Have melons with melons: Melons are celibates. They never pair up with anyone else. Have them by themselves as they may not digest well with any other fruit. This is because they digest faster than most other fruits owing to their high water content. Avoid mixing your watermelons, muskmelons, cantaloupe and honeydews with other fruits. Never have acidic/sub acidic with sweet fruits: Try not to mix acidic fruits, such as grapefruits and strawberries, or sub-acidic foods such as apples, pomegranates and peaches, with sweet fruits, such as bananas and raisins for a better digestion. However, you can mix acidic with sub-acidic fruits. For a similar reason, you should not mix guavas and bananas. Some studies claim that the duo can even

increase your chances of nausea, acidosis and headaches. Never have fruits with vegetables: Fruits and vegetables digest differently. Fruits have a quicker pace of digestion and in fact, many nutritionists say that they are partially digested by the time they reach the stomach. Also, fruits have more sugar content, something that can hinder the digestive process of vegetables. For the same reason, one shouldn’t mix orange with carrot as when taken together, they may cause heartburn and excess bile reflux. Never mix starchy with high protein: Only a few fruits are starchy in nature. These include green bananas and plantains. But there are many vegetables that are starchy in nature, such as corns, potatoes, cowpeas, black-eyed peas

and water chestnuts. You should never mix them with high protein fruits and vegetables such as raisins, guava, spinach and broccoli. This is because your body needs an acidic base to digest proteins and an alkaline base to digest starches.

4 quick fruit fixes

Consume between 4 to 6 fruits at one time. If you have had a lot of proteins, have papaya the next morning as it contains papain to break it down. If you have over-eaten salt, have a waterbased fruit, like watermelon, the next morning to flush out the salt. If you have had excess carbs, like pasta, have apple the next morning as your body needs to work out more to break the complex carbs that an apple contains. This helps prevent bloating which may otherwise be caused by simple carbs like the ones in pasta.

NEW DELHI, MAY 2 (AGENCIES): Rift within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seems to be widening by the day with war of words between its leaders refusing to die down. On one hand, AAP founder member Kumar Vishwas on Tuesday accused its leaders of conspiring against him and said he won’t compromise with his principles and will soon take a call on his future action. “I know I will be targeted. The efforts to tarnish my image will be made. But let me tell those conspirators that I will not allow you to do so,” Kumar Vishwas told reporters without taking any name. He denied that he wanted to be the convenor of AAP. “I have already said 10 times and even to Arvind (Kejriwal) and Manish (Sisodia) and the party that I don’t want to be the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief

Minister or the Convenor,” he said. Kumar Vishwas also said that he would not join any political party or the Swaraj Aandolan. Kumar Vishwas broke down while talking to reporters and said, “I don’t know why you are here but I had not joined the movement for this.” On the other hand, Delhi deputy chief Minister Manish Sisodia slammed senior Vishwas for making statements in the media over the ongoing infighting within the party in the wake of its civic polls debacle. Sisodia said that Vishwas was making remarks on television which was “lowering” the morale of party workers. “No one in the party asked Kumar Vishwas to apologise. He made it personal. The party does not belong to Arvind (Kejriwal), to me or to Kumar (Vishwas) but it belongs to lakhs of workers in India and

abroad,” Sisodia told reporters at Kejriwal’s residence, as per IANS. . “I along with Sanjay Singh had gone to meet him. He did not come to the PAC yesterday (Monday). He is making remarks in the media which is lowering the morale of party cadre and everyone knows who is getting benefited,” Sisodia said. M e a n w h i l e, A A P MLA Amanatullah Khan resigned yesterday from the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the party following a high-end meeting of the party members with Vishwas conspicuously absent. Khan, while emerging out of the PAC meeting, had categorically named Kumar Vishwas as been “planted by the BJP and the RSS” to disbalance the party. “Vishwas ate cake with Ajit Doval and Bassi when AAP MLAs were arrested,” he had said, as per ANI.
