Readers of this “zine” know the entirety of the company consist of Paul, myself, and the dog. Our cover models and other contributors have helped immensely, but in the end it is only us... and the dog can’t type more than a few words per minute and is color-blind. This issue is the thirteenth monthly we’ve produced and it will be our last. While it was a fun adventure and we’ve made some dear friends along the way, the financial burden has proven too much for our stretched budget. The dedication it takes to put this thing together month has turned into a real chore; we basically have a week off between issues… which we probably should use to focus on marketing. As we have decided to stop publishing monthly, we most likely won’t stop publishing altogether. Occasionally, we have something to share with people. Occasionally, we’ll meet some new person and have a good time photographing them. Occasionally, we’ll find a current topic too important to not discuss with you… we are in an election year with global consequences. Perhaps we’ll tell you all about the possible trip to Key West we’ve been talking about for a year… maybe I’ll stand on the other side of the camera this time. Perhaps we’ll produce an issue introducing you to yourselves. This has been the point of the magazine all along. We are regular men in a community of regular men, yet the medium is largely one-way - from us to you. Again, contributors help to close the loop, but it’s still us editors deciding what readers see. Perhaps we will create a social space on our website for everyone to visit and interact with each other. Perhaps we’ll hold some kind of contest for readers to send pics or introductions or some other nonsense to continue to point out how very similar we all really are. Or perhaps we’ll win the lottery, rent out all the rooms of a Las Vegas hotel, and invite you all to visit as a vacation. We’ll almost certainly do something with you all in the future.
NAKd.life is about social responsibility & personal wellness focused on celebrating men as they are. NAKd is about more than not wearing clothes but exposing an authentic self in spite of what is expected. Real men. Really NAKd. With great articles, information, NAKd men, reader submitted stories and inspiring photographs we aim to provide our readers with what they need to be part of a community of men. We welcome all generations.. everywhere. We always encourage our readers to add to this publication. If you have anything you want to see published, submit it for consideration. “ I love being naked whenever possible. When writing I am always naked at my computer which helps enhance my creativity/imagination. As an actor I have appeared naked on stage once, I would also like to appear in a movie naked as well. I am a nude model as well and have posed for life drawing classes and photographers. I never model with my clothes on. I also write a blog called "Entertain Me" here is the link, enjoy! ” Michael is a Writer/Actor/Model located in Los Angeles, CA. 8 • NAKd.life Magazine • www.magazine.nakd.life

asculine stereotypes as often liberate as restrict modern men. If you were unable to use names or pronouns to define your characters as male, how else do you ensure the readers know they are masculine?
“Respect those who respect you. You have one life to make a difference, make that difference for everyone.”
When I write a story I have to put myself into the character and visualise the theme the best I can. For example, when I wrote Visions of Mary which is to be featured in my forthcoming collection Doomsday After Midnight, there are two main characters, a female, a male. I break my idea down into two slots in my mind. Similar to an actor playing a role in a film. Their task is to express and perform that part the best way they can and I do the same with my literature. I think also it depends on how you would like the story to go and what angle, ending, etc.. I wrote a story titled Infestation, which is themed around cross-dressing zombies. There are certain descriptive elements you must mention before the given scene, unless it is a psychological story and then you can play with the reader’s mind to your heart’s content.

n Light of Keeps Passage your hero is weighed down by acknowledgement of uniqueness; is the hero’s journey to acceptance and fulfillment essential to your stories? I’m currently in the early stages of writing a book series, titled Sorcero. Without giving too much information at this moment. It will be themed around the Roman dynasties, it’ll be an historical, dark fantasy project. One of the main characters of book one is definitely an assured hero. That is the way I wanted it to be. It will set the pace for the reader upon the Sorcero journey. It is an exciting project to be involved in.

e should write what we know, so goes the advice. Are these tales reflections of your own journey toward self-acceptance?
This is an element I used with some of my verses from the book Tombstones. It was a personal healer to me. Even though it was popular release to my readers, but to myself it is sacred. That was why I named the collection Tombstones. An example I did this was during when I lived in a houseshare and during winter the heating was in disrepair for about two weeks. I knew I had to turn a negative into a positive. I began to write a verse, titled A Corpse of Winter. Another time a similar thing happened was when I wrote, Wheels of Damnation. Another verse from Tombstones which speaks about domestic violence and volatile relationships, which could be personal or professional.

n the naturist rainbow, where do you land? What is your view toward erections? Single males at co-ed events/resorts/beaches? The latest krufuffle over a penis on BBC prime-time television? For as long as I can remember I’ve always felt comfortable living naturally. Exhibitionism and sex has nothing to do with naturism because the intention is solely different. Naturism is feeling more comfortable by simply not wearing clothes. I believe our species needs to reform and make themselves more socially understanding about the reality in the real world. There’s nothing more beautiful and natural to be outside running naked in the countryside or laying on a beach feeling the breeze on your skin. I think doors should be opened further and a little extra pushing is needed to gain the positive outlook for our clothesfree community. Daily I promote and campaign for human rights. Erections are obviously a normal and natural thing which occur but being a lifelong naturist I’ve never came across erections from myself or others around me. Naturism doesn’t work like that. Of course, we naturists like sex just like anyone else but there is a time and a place.

o you have any projects aimed to promote naturism (since you’ve selfidentified as such rather than “nudist”)? In my supernatural/occult novella The Mirrored Room I briefly mention a visit to a naturist beach and nude yoga. I am currently in the early stages of writing my first naturist themed book, to be titled The Sun Dancers. At some point in the near future I will also be making my first documentary film, Nude Britannia. It will be like a road trip style film and I will be promoting UK naturism with some very special guests involved. I am also working on a photobook of poetic verses, to be titled Tales from the Nymph Garden. At present this project is on hold due to forthcoming releases, Doomsday After Midnight, Libro de Lumine and contributed short stories to various anthologies, including my story The Roads of Mars which will be featured in The Sun Machine- a literary tribute to David Bowie, Wizards of Glorious Sodomy which is featured in The Gore Carnival and Splattercake in The Intermission (Gore Carnival-Book 2) to be published by Fat Lip Press this July 2016. The Sun Machine which will be published by Apres Vague Press is due out this September 2016 and all proceeds to be donated to Cancer Research UK.

The present day Anthony Crowley is also a featured contributor to ‘Haunted after Dark’ with his very own dark haven of ‘Crowley’s Crypt’ and has written many works of literature & poetry for publications, such as,Massacre Magazine, Sanitarium, HelloHorror. Face the Music [by. Paul Stanley]
LISTEN
In Face the Music, Paul Stanley [the co-founder and famous “Starchild” frontman of KISS] reveals for the first time the incredible highs and equally incredible lows in his life both inside and outside the band. Face the Music is the shocking, funny, smart, inspirational story of one of rock’s most enduring icons and the group he helped create, define, and immortalize.

With original recordings executiveproduced by Elvis Presley with producer Felton Jarvis, “Way Down In The Jungle Room” brings together, for the first time in one collection, master recordings and rare outtakes laid down during two mythic sessions (February 2-8, 1976 and October 28-30, 1976) in Graceland’s den [known as the Jungle Room] which was converted into a professional caliber recording studio for the purpose of capturing these indelible performances. [Way Down in the Jungle Room]
In 1976, when the tracks for “Way Down In The Jungle Room” were cut, Elvis Presley had been an RCA Records recording artist for 20 years, inventing the sound and attitude that defined the very essence of rock ‘n’ roll.
Stanley mixes compelling personal revelations and gripping, gritty war stories that will surprise even the most steadfast member of the KISS Army. He takes us back to his childhood in the 1950s and ’60s, a traumatic time made more painful thanks to a physical deformity. Born with a condition called microtia, he grew up partially deaf, with only one ear. But this instilled in him an inner drive to succeed in the most unlikely of pursuits: music.

UK Dating Show Has Bachelors Bare All
[by. Cody Gohl]
Instead of using questions, interviews or challenges to determine the chemistry between a contestant and a cast of potential admirers, Naked Attraction, a new program from Britain’s Channel 4, allows its participant to choose a date based solely on a suitor’s naked body.
INGREDIENTS
ahh
1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 6-ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate 1/3 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. ice 4 oz. vodka
DIRECTIONS Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until slushy. Serve immediately!
20 • NAKd.life Magazine • www.magazine.nakd.life
At the start of the game, the main contestant stands on a stage surrounded by darkened glass boxes. As the show progresses, the boxes light up one by one to reveal a naked person inside. The contestant and host then appraise the man or woman’s body, bringing them out to stand at the center of the stage. After they’ve gone through all six participants, the contestant makes their pick of which naked person they’d like to go on a date with. Since the show premiered this past July, it’s caused quite a stir with viewers and censors alike who complain that the amount of nudity is gratuitous. A spokesperson for the show, however, said the program is meant to be “lighthearted” and “aims to demystify the rules of sexual attraction” for young daters of the “Tinder generation.”

WELLNESS 1: Physical Wellness
7
Physical wellness is what often comes to mind when we think about being healthy, and for good reason: the health of our bodies is critical for overall wellness. Broadly speaking, physical wellness involves implementing regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy diet, and rejuvenating our bodies through rest and sleep— all things that protect us from chronic diseases and improve our quality of life.
2: Emotional Wellness
When we feel emotionally balanced, we are aware of and able to manage our emotions, and we have a realistic and mostly positive view of ourselves, others, and the circumstances in our lives. We also feel equipped to deal with the stressors that life throws our way. 3: Spiritual Wellness
Although spiritual wellness can certainly be obtained through religious practice, Rickhi clarifies that spirituality is much broader and involves “learning how to be more forgiving, grateful, and compassionate, to be kinder and less judgmental.”
4: Intellectual Wellness
Intellectual wellness involves a commitment to lifelong learning. We nurture our intellectual health when we engage in creative activities, learn new things, and expand our knowledge.
5: Environmental Wellness
Dimensions of Wellness
A 2008 position statement released by the Australian Psychological Association affirmed, “It is clear that the well-being and integrity of natural ecosystems and the biophysical environment are integral to human health and well-being.” Certainly, many of us have experienced the restorative feeling of spending time in the great 22 • NAKd.life Magazine • www.magazine.nakd.life

outdoors. But what is it about nature that research shows can reduce our stress levels, improve our mood and concentration, and increase vitality? One theory is that being in nature helps us reflect on our thoughts and feelings by giving us a break from the hustle of everyday life. Another is that it helps us feel connected to something bigger than ourselves.
6: Occupational Wellness Occupational wellness involves the suitability of our work to our interests, skills, and values, and the fulfillment we gain from our professions. However, work does not only mean paid occupations—it also includes life roles (such as mother- or fatherhood), hobbies, or volunteer work. A high level of work engagement—having an optimistic, dedicated, and energetic attitude—is linked to positive emotions and higher job performance. One way to increase work engagement is to focus on what you like about your career—no matter how small. We all have things we don’t like about our work, but staying positive about even one thing (a learning opportunity or a friendship with a co-worker) can help us handle the stressful parts more effectively.
7: Social Wellness
A large body of research indicates that people who have more meaningful social relationships are healthier, happier, and even live longer. In other words, there seems to be a reason we feel the desire to care for our loved ones, belong to clubs and teams, and socialize with our friends. Although many realities of our modern world—more screen time, longer work weeks, and crammed schedules—don’t always lend themselves well to socializing, increasing our time with others is one of the most accessible and inexpensive health strategies available to us. AROMATICS
[by. Irene McGuinness]
Regional Flavour Bases
Caught on Camera
France Many French dishes start with a base that is 2 parts diced onions to 1 part diced celery and carrots, otherwise known as a mirepoix. It’s seasoned with herbs such as tarragon or herbes de Provence. Gently sautéed, the richness of this caramelized trio is the basis of many great stews, soups, and bakes.
Mexico Mexican dishes begin with onion, celery, and most often garlic, to which is added lime, smoked peppers, ginger, cumin, and coriander.
Japan Japanese cuisine might start with garlic, ginger, and green onions, which is then seasoned with hot chilies, wasabi, and fermented bean sauces.
Aromatics are the distinct vegetables, spices, and fat cooked together to form a flavour base for a variety of regional cuisines all over the world.
India In India, a typical dish will begin with sautéed onions, garlic, and ginger root seasoned with hand-ground spices such as curry powder or cumin.
Oil or fat Aromatics are cooked in an oil or fat available in their region. Whether coconut or olive oil, butter or ghee is used, it creates a deep flavour for many soups, stews, sauces, and more.

It’s all about aromatics—a unique but simple combination of ingredients basic to all recipes. Every country’s famous dishes begin with a flavour base of three vegetables. These are enhanced with specific spices that create a particular region’s aromatics.
Learning how to use aromatics is so easy. Warm the fat. Sauté three basic vegetables, and season with a few herbs or spices. NAKd.life Magazine • www.magazine.nakd.life • 25
