Jagjit Singh Ahuja (Retd) Consultant HRD TEACHINGS OF SIKHISM IN PRACTICE Sikhs have been practicing all the requirements to be a good human because of its teachings. These teachings of Sikhism can be summed up broadly in three simple words , while keeping a focus of their lives around their relationship with God., the almighty – Praying - Trust and Faith in God Working – Dignity of Labour Giving – Benevolence Sikhs are spirituality centered round this need to understand and experience God, and eventually become one with God. This needs that a Sikh must switch the focus of their attention from themselves to God. This state is best achieved by following the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib (SGGS) ,the living Guru of the Sikhs . This holy book shows the followers of Sikhism the best ways how to get closer to the God . There have been many such incidents narrating that how the followers of Sikhism have been practicing these three teachings in letter and spirit .
I have got the narrative of this true incident by Major General S P S Narang , a retired officer settled in Dehradun . This has been shared by another army officer from south India through the internet . I am reproducing as received . “Last November, I was driving from Dehradun to Chandigarh — a fascinating four-hour journey, with the added attraction of visiting Paonta Sahib Gurdwara. I had to break on the way to give myself and my car some rest. And what better than entering the abode of the Guru. Besides the soothing kirtan, it is the langar that one savours, seated on the floor among a multitude of people from all walks of life. Some partake of all meals as they have no means to satiate their hunger. Breaking bread with them gives an indescribable spiritual high, and to experience this, one doesn’t have to belong to any one religion. I, too, enjoyed the langar and came out to get on with my journey. I stopped to buy some knick-knacks from a kiosk outside the gurdwara. Just then, I spotted a family of Gujjars (Muslims nomads who rear cattle in semi mountains and sell milk), in an intent discussion in front of a tea vendor. OCTOBER 2020 - 001
The family comprised an elderly couple, two middle-aged couples and four children. Three women were partially veiled. They seemed poor as the eldest gentleman (probably the father) counted coins and some crumpled notes. Undoubtedly, the issue was how much they could afford to buy. They asked for three cups of tea and four samosas (popular Indian snack) . Gathering courage, I asked him, “Kya aap sab khana khayenge?” (would you all like to have food!!) They looked at one another with a mix of surprise, apprehension and a hurt self-respect. There was silence. Sometimes, silence can be loud. The innocent eyes of the kids were filled with hope. “Hum kha ke aaaye hain,” (we have eaten already) he responded. There was an instant retort, “Kahan khayaa hai subeh se kuch bhi, Abba?” (we have not eaten anything since morning, Papa!!). Hearing that, a dull ache in my chest caught me by surprise. The stern look in the eyes of the three men and the pleading moist eyes of the women said it all. I insisted that they come with me. They agreed, reluctantly. We entered the gurdwara (Sikh Temple of God). A good feeling descended over me as I deposited their shoes at the jora ghar (Shoe deposite room in all Gurdwaras). The elders were awed by the architectural marvel. However, there was fear in their eyes, which was understandable. They were entering a non-Islamic place of worship for the first time. But the children couldn’t care less, their innocent faces single-mindedly focused on food. Some onlookers flashed strange looks from the corner of their eyes.
But then I followed the children, adopting their easy attitude as they excitedly chose head wraps of different colours. (everyone is supposed to cover their heads inside a Gurdwara). Except for the eldest member, all accompanied me inside, and emulating me, bowed their heads and touched their forehead to the floor. Many others must have noticed, as I did, that these children went through this ritual with utmost reverence. They took Parshad (offering) from the Bhaiji (The Priest) ) who asked them if they needed more. The children gladly nodded. We entered the Langar Hall and I took the kids along to collect thaalis (plates). They did it with joy, like only kids would. Seated opposite us was a newly-married couple. The bride, with red bangles accentuating her charm, asked the children to sit beside her, and two of them sat between them. The way she was looking after them, I could tell she would make a loving mother. Langar was served, and though I had already eaten, I ate a little to make my guests comfortable. One had to see to believe how they relished it. The initial apprehension had vanished and they ate to their fill. I have no words to describe the joy I experienced. We had nearly finished when an elderly Sikh and a youth with flowing beard (perhaps the head granthi and sewadar-helper) sought me out. I was overcome by fear, and more than me, my guests were scared. I walked up to them with folded hands. He enquired, “Inhaan nu tusi le ke aaye ho? (Have you brought them in?).” I nodded. The next question had me baffled, “Tusi har din path karde ho? (Do you say prayers every day?).” I almost blurted “yes”, but it would have been a lie. So, with utmost humility I said “no”. OCTOBER 2020 - 002
Expecting an admonishment, he surprised me, “Tuhaanu tha koi lorh hi nahin. Aj tuhaanu sab kuch mil gaya hai ji (You don’t need to. Today you have got everything).” I was flabbergasted. Was it advice or sarcasm? He added, “Inha nu Babbe de ghar lya ke te langar shaka ke tusi sab kuch paa laya. Tuhaada dhanwad. Assi dhan ho gaye (By bringing them to the Guru’s abode for langar, you’ve got everything from God. Thank you. We are blessed).”
Finally, as they were about to depart, the elderly lady whispered to her husband.
Then, with folded hands, he walked up to the elderly couple and requested them, “Aap jad bhi idhar aao to langar kha ke jaaiye. Yeh to uparwale da diya hai ji (Whenever you happen to pass through here, please come and have food. It is God’s gift).”
Is it my imagination, or for real, that I often feel the beautiful hand of a Muslim lady, wrapped in purity and love, on my head?
I escorted my guests out of the Langar Hall. Just as we were about to pick our footwear, one of the children said, “Humme aur halwa do naa.” (Get us some more sweet offering). We five went in to get more parshad.
I enquired, “Koi baat, Miyaji?” (is there any problem, Mian Ji!! Almost pleadingly, he said, “Yeh keh rahin ki, kya aap ke sar par haath rakh sakti hain? (She is saying, can she keep her hand on your head)!! I bowed as she blessed me with tears in her eyes. A wave of emotions swept over me.
This is the reason, we are secular.” This has made me proud to share with the readers of The Sikh Review . There must be many such antidotes , our readers would like to share through its columns . Brig Jagjit Singh Ahuja (Retd)

Peace and Religion The Quintessence Of Mahavir Swami's Teachings Ahimsa is the essence of dharma; it sustains society and nurtures reverence, giving honour and dignity to all life forms. Compassion and kindness are expressions of this basic value, which, when practised and reciprocated, results in peace and harmony. Violence is a deviation from dharma and the root of all evils. The quintessence of Lord Mahaveer’s teachings is that ahimsa (non-violence), self-restraint and austerity are the basic expressions and constituents of dharma. The principle of ahimsa in Jainism embraces not only human beings but all animals, birds, plants, vegetables and creatures. It is the holy law of compassion extended to the body, mind and speech of every living person. In Mahaveer’s words, “not to kill any living being is the foundation of all wisdom.” He added: “One has to understand that ...
non-violence and equality of all living beings are essentials of dharma.” He emphasised reverence to all forms of life. He said: “All living beings desire to live, they wish to relish pleasure; loath misery, shun annihilation; enjoy life and like to live long. In short, life is dear to all beings.” Today, mankind has forgotten these values of ahimsa. The result is that it is suffering from the effects of violence, hatred, disharmony and degradation of all natural resources. According to Mahaveer, we should develop values and not only more and more material and sensual objects. Today there is an urgent need to understand and imbibe the life values of non-violence, restraint of desires, equality and non-absolutism taught by the great Master more than 2,500 years ago. a mind at peace, you say? The overwhelming majority of us live in the midst of mental maelstroms that subside only for brief and treasured moments. We could probably count on the fingers of both hands the number of those rare, holy persons whose minds are truly, permanently at peace. If we wait for all beings in the world to become sages, what chance is there of a peaceful world for us? Even if our minds are not completely peaceful, is there any possibility of reducing the levels of violence in the world and of successfully abating the winds of war? Buddhism and Peace
Buddhism teaches that whether we have global peace or global war is up to us at every moment. The situation is not hopeless and out of our hands. If we don't do anything, who will? Peace or war is our decision. The fundamental goal of Buddhism is peace, not only peace in this world but peace in all worlds. The Buddha taught that the first step on the path to peace is understanding the causality of peace. When we understand what causes peace, we know where to direct our efforts. No matter how vigorously we stir a boiling pot of soup on a fire, the soup will not cool. When we remove the pot from the fire, it will cool on its own, and our stirring will hasten the process. Stirring causes the soup to cool, but only if we first remove the soup from the fire. In other words, we can take many actions in our quest for peace that may be helpful. But if we do not first address the fundamental issues, all other actions will come to naught. The Buddha taught that peaceful minds lead to peaceful speech and peaceful actions. If the minds of living beings are at peace, the world will be at peace. Who has...
To answer these questions, let us look first at the Buddha's vision of the world, including the causality of its operations. Then, in that context, we can trace the causes of war. When the causes are identified, the Buddha's suggestions for dealing with them and eliminating them can be discussed. Finally, having developed a Buddhist theoretical framework for understanding the nature of the problem and its solution, we can try to apply the basic principles in searching for concrete applications that we can actually put into practice in our own daily lives.

Give me some peace of mind! It is said that when Lord Buddha walked through the forests, all the animals would walk beside him. And guess who would walk right beside him? The king of the jungle, Lion. Many a time I wondered if it needed something from Lord Buddha. Turns out that animals are naturally blissed out, unless a human has inflicted his ways upon them. Animals live in a state of calm and compose and tend to act ferocious to either protect their tribe or hunt, both as survival instincts. Humans are different. We often find the need to claim our peace from outside. Haven't we all heard people say, ‘’ give me some peace?,’’ or ‘’ if you cant bring me any peace don't take whatever peace I have with me?’’ As humans, the understanding of peace has become materialized to a vacation, a time away from work, people , into the woods and in quiet. One needs to contemplate, why such a vital element of our life has become so difficult to attain and would we keep it that way if we really understood what peace is.
An enlightened master like Lord Buddha, Mahavir, Guru Nanak, and many more all had millions of followers because they brought peace upon people. They advocated practices through teachings and meditations that helped people drop down their desires and they felt peaceful. Science through metaphysics has explained the same. Peace has a vibration of over 600Hz while a fermented desire has a frequency of 125Hz. The higher the frequency at which one is, the more smoother his life runs. He gets things achieved with ease. It is amazing the depth of detail of the chants of vedas. Because even the chants were intoned to produce frequencies that manifested desires. Science and rhythm combined in these chants has this effect. Meditation has the same effect. Many ancient healing sciences were based on the perception of the subtler aspects of frequencies. The world popularly calls it energy healing/reiki etc.. When you function at a higher frequency, there is higher energy in your body, and so your circulation, digestion, stamina is all better. You feel happier, content, stronger and compassionate. And so , it is harder to fall sick. In current times, it is indeed an intelligent way of life to ensure that we maintain our peace and help others maintain their own. After all, we need to take care of ourselves and our loved ones with the most effective tools. Dr. Rehana Rao OCTOBER 2020 - 007

Founder : Makeupby Cherry “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending and the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” That’s what I did and made my profession after doing B.EL.ED (Bacheolor in elementary education) from Lady Shri Ram College (DU). Teaching is a noble profession but couldn’t continue as interests were different. “Creativity is not only the process of coming up with new ideas and ability to think outside the box, but it is also an ability to add uniqueness to what already exists.” Makeup is an art and for that reason creativity is built into my job description. Also as a makeup enthusiast, I am someone that likes and truly enjoys makeup. After getting married at the age of 22 with my beloved, I did teaching job for two years, dropped it and blessed with my first child, had no one in the family who can take good care of my child in my absence, so I quit the job. After few years, I was blessed with my second child and life started revolving around looking after my family and raising kids. In 2018, after thinking for so many years, to do something creative I decided to do a makeup course. It was a decision after getting so many applauds on the kind of makeup I used to do on myself when I step out with my friends for kitties and other outings.
Pearl Academy was my final decision from where I learnt makeup. The journey wasn’t easy as it was a campus where my batch mates were of the very young age and I was 36. My family supported me fully and helped me completing my course by maintaining lots of files, projects and submissions. After the completion of one-year course, I did few short term courses, took and gave some makeup teaching classes and practised a lot. 2019 was the year only when I won the pageant of Mrs. India Delhi NCR. This story is little interesting as I was being approached for a makeup artist for that pageant and I myself got enrolled for the same. Destiny has its own role to play, so I was more confident now to grow more. With stars in my favour, blessings and support from my family, I am the person of my own today, filled of life, energy, creativity and satisfaction that makes me complete. Now, I am working as a freelance makeup artist experimenting new makeup looks for brides and other occasions. I like to doll up my clients in a way that they feel prettier, more confident and refined versions of themselves. My style is focused on giving elegant makeovers that enhance the features and creates an exquisite, flawless finish.

Umeet Kaur Bal EDUCATOR
Spiritually Magical Journey In the midst of the enormous mountains lie a small pilgrimage center of the Sikhs. Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib, derived from two words Hem (Snow), Kund (lake). Hence, this Gurudwara lies besides the lake surrounded by the seven mountains. This Gurudwara lies in Chamoli district in Uttrakhand. History says, this place has its relevance from the previous birth of Guru Gobind Singh ji (10th Guru of the Sikhs). It is believed that Guru Gobind Singh ji had meditated 7kms above the Hemkund Lake in his previous birth. You start the journey from Rishikesh, the most easily accessible point. The journey from Rishikesh to Govindghat is usually taken by bus. The scenic beauty is something which ought not to be missed. You travel in the perfect juncture of blue sky, mountains, Valleys Rivers and not to miss the waterfalls on both the sides splashing on the buses. This scary journey takes about 4.5 hours through the sharp turns on the landslide prone areas which makes the ride bumpy. From Govindghat, the next stop would be Govinddham which is about a 12km trek.
The roads are well built and easy to walk over. The mystic fragrance of tea, Maggi and boiled black chana from the stalls on the pathway, will make your walk fill with energy. The enchanting view of this walk through the mountains, the sprawling green valleys will leave your mesmerized. As the day comes to an end, it’s essential to take a good night sleep at Govinddham where you get all the accommodation facilities for the visitors. The next day starts before the sun rise as the temperature at Hemkund Sahib doesn’t allow you to stay beyond 2pm. The final stretch of 6 km is strenuous, a 6 hour travel due to the ascend and the narrow paths at an astounding elevations of about 4000m. But, for sure the treat for your eyes is awaiting at the corner. The lofty Himalayas stand strong with all the pride. This traverse will take you through a magical journey between the snow clad mountains on one side and deep valleys on the other side filled with white crystal clear water of River Ganga which seems to be flowing eternally. OCTOBER 2020 - 011
In the entire trek upwards, you would find young Sikh men offering glucose, dry fruits and other energy giving foods which will keep you going. You would also find free Langar (Food) in every corner of the entire trip. Once you step on to the last step of your uphill, the melodious music flows into your ears makes you forget all the fatigue. Right in the midst of the seven mountains stands the Beautiful Gurudwara with a lake adjacent to it where the pilgrims are seen taking a dip and reciting their prayers. All the visitors are welcomed with a bowl of piping hot kheer (sweet rice cooked in milk) to mitigate the cold.
This enchanting beauty of the nature and the serenity in the Gurudwara seems as though a slice from the heaven has drifted and landed up between these mountains. Once you are there, you forget all your fear and worries and the world around. I pray to almighty that I get the opportunity to visit this place again. Mode of Journey: Either by foot or can hire a pony or a porter. Helicopter facility available till Best time to Visit: June to October (upto 2 pm only at Hemkund) Other attractions: Flower Valley & Kedarnath Stays: Rooms at Gurudwara, homestays and other hotels easily available.

Are you suffering from an iron deficiency? A lot of women in India are iron deficient and if you don't follow a good nourishing diet, it can be very easy to experience chronic health problems. Iron deficiency disguises itself in simple symptoms like tiredness, fatigue, dullness and can lead to a lot more health problems, including autoimmune disorders, if not treated in time. Iron deficiency can also be caused by folate deficiency, which can lead to unexpected blood loss, weakness, misbalanced production of red blood cells in the body and create problems in your menstrual cycle. Food items that you can include in your meal to enrich your diet with iron Vegetables : Spinach, asparagus, peas are a rich source of iron. Include them in your vegetable preparation to get the right iron content. Millet: They are a great source of iron, including millet like bajra, samai in everyday meals help to curb iron deficiency.
Dried fruits and nuts: Almonds, raisins, cashew nuts, dried dates and apricots are some extremely rich sources of iron. You can consume these in the middle of your meals. Dates are an excellent sources of fighting acute iron deficiency. In fact, this is one superfood that every woman should include in her regular diet. Dates are rich in natural sugars, fibers, and minerals, apart from the high iron content which can pump up the production of red blood cells in the body, protecting you from anemia and related risks . Eat only 2 dates .But do not over-eat! Spices and condiments: Our Indian spices and condiments are rich sources of non-heme iron. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that fell on his back, the donkey was doing some thing amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.
FALGUNI GHEDIA Educator : Oswal English Academy Amitee CSC Academy - Jamnagar Never to Give up!! Each and every small incident gives us a life lesson if we see it with different angle. Same thing happened with me. Let share the memorable incident when I visited my father's native place Khambhaliya. Iwas too small at that time. While passing by I saw a huge crowd buzzing something about a donkey near a well. So I went near with curiosity to see what exactly was going around and I came to know that a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally the farmer decided that the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and begin to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and totted off! So today when I was recalling the incident I got a precious life lesson that : Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick is to not to get bogged down by it. We can get out of the deepest wells by not stopping. And by never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up! Falguni Ghedia

Beautiful day Hello beautiful people, Today, today is a beautiful day just because you are here. You’re alive. Do you know what does that means? Do you know how many people didn’t make it and didn’t get a chance that you have today? You have a brand new fresh start, a new fresh start, a new day, an opportunity. Go outside and listen to birds chirping, feel the sun on your skin, feel it brighten your face and warm your heart. Take a deep breath and notice it travel through your body and feel what it means to be alive. Let go all your tension. Let it fly away with the birds or with the flow of air. Today is yours and today you can do anything. The universe is limitless. You have an opportunity to love and laugh and accomplish today. You have a power to make choices and create wonders. So, find a mirror, look into your eyes and smile.
Smile and let it light up your being. Let it light up the space around you. Today is a beautiful day because it’s now. Yesterday may have been hard and last week you may have made some bad decisions but today is beautiful. It’s new and fresh and most importantly it’s yours. Take a moment to focus on what you want for today. What do you want your dreams to look like? Whatever you focus on is what you will get. So what do you want to accomplish today? Write down a list of all you want to accomplish. Think about how you’ll feel when that whole list is crossed off. Be grateful, for all that you already have and you will be happier. So what are you thankful for?? Think about five six things that you are grateful for in this very moment. Being grateful is so important because ones you are thankful for what you have, you allow space for more things you want in your life to be thankful for. Being thankful is being mindful of all good you already have. It’s savouring the good moments and highlighting the positive in your life. Today is full of love, joy, kindness, giving, serenity, clarity, confidence, accomplishments, playful, laughter, happiness, light and beauty. But most of all you make this day beautiful just by being here. So, go and make this day awesome and memorable. Thanks for reading!!! Have a nice day.. Harvi Ghedia OCTOBER 2020 - 015

Interview of the Month
Dr.Nimarjeet Kaur Rajpal Owner & Proprietor of Satnaam Herbals “Life is what happens to us while we are busy making other plans Live in the moment. One day at a time.” Dr. Nimarjeet
“She constructs others, she doesn’t just heal but teaches to heal, and she just doesn’t solve but teaches to resolve issues.” An entrepreneur is usually a person who sets up a business, taking on financial risks for just profit making. This month we have an entrepreneur who has started her venture for a vision beyond all this. For her profit making has a much vast definition, not just a compound word filled with monetary benefits but filled with the well-being of her tribe physically, mentally, spiritually. Her give away just doesn’t include tablets and kadha but it comprises of abundance of knowledge and positivity which is priceless. Dr. Nimarjeet Kaur Rajpal, an Ayurvedic Physician and a certified holistic wellness coach, not only heals others physically but also heals through other dimensions like emotional and spiritual.
She is a nutritionist, dietician, a counsellor and a perfect guide. She focusses on overall wellness and has a passion to make a huge impact on people’s health. She runs her venture under the name of “Satnaam Herbals”. Apart from, Dr.Nimarjeet Kaur, I also happened to speak to her tribe (that’s how she address her community of women whom she intends to heal). Karishma believes Dr. is a synonym of “Solution”, who can fix anything, any time. I quote her “She lovingly took me in her arms to dive head first into the mindfulness journey.” Another member of the tribe Dipti calls her an Angel who sorts out all the problems so easily and smoothly.
OCTOBER 2020 - 020
It is immense pleasure that today I get to pen down her interview. Dr.Nimarjeet, her beliefs, her words. Me: Did you always want to become a doctor? Dr.: No. Actually I always aspired to be a business woman .As my maths was really good and I thought I would move into a business stream after completion of my MBA. But my father wanted me to be a doctor. In fact, my father wanted all his daughters to be doctors. But my elder sister had an ambition to be a teacher and indeed she did become one and deserves to be as she is very intelligent. I moved ahead to fulfil his dream which later became a passion for me. Me: Any specific reason Why Ayurveda? Dr.: To be very honest, I gave entrance exams for MBBS, as for us being a doctor was being MBBS. That time Ayurveda had no scope. I couldn't clear my entrance but did clear the BDS entrance exam. But that wasn’t something that amused me, studying tooth throughout. Hence, I dropped the plan but didn’t want to let go off a year. It was at that time I went in for Homeopathy and Ayurveda and proudly ranked first and second consequently. I went forward with Ayurveda when one of my relatives told me that, Ayurvedic physicians have the authority to practice allopath also. What was more needed, I plunged into the study of medicine through historical roots even though initially it was for my father, later became my love. Henceforth, I made it a point to only n only treat my patients with Ayurveda and the traditional therapies. Me: That’s so wonderful. Could you tell us about your journey?
Dr.: My journey wasn’t very different from other doctors, 5.5 years graduation 1.5 years in PG, but being studious I can only recall my golden days digging into my books studying. But I was in love with Ayurveda hence thoroughly enjoyed it. The internship time under the guidance of Expertise doctors I learnt to give stitches, injections and also surgeries. There has been a big misconception amongst people that BAMS doesn't have any surgery but the full form of BAMS itself is Bachelor’s in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery" so definitely surgery is a separate subject known as “Shalya Chikitsa”. In this department, I had assisted numerous major and minor surgeries. Definitely, I didn't pursue any post-graduation in surgery so I don’t do the surgery part but authorized to do all the minor procedures. Me: I believe you coach for Mindfulness. What is this mindfulness? What made you enter this? Dr.: Mindfulness simply means staying in present moment. The entire world today stays either in the sadness of the past or worries of the future. The reason for me exploring my mind was my own sensitive nature, which would only and only think way beyond the boundaries. There was a continuous inner chatter of the monkey always in my mind. In spite of being blessed with a wonderful loyal life partner, the insecurities, possessives and the doubt persisted deep in my mind. I read, researched and realized that the problem was my inner self not in the outside world. It was at this time I entered into this blissful journey of mindfulness to heal myself, to understand where it comes from and to dissolve it.
OCTOBER 2020 - 021
Me: But what made you take up this as an area of your expertise? Dr. : Actually, mindfulness holds a very important part in today’s world, the world which is running back and forth all in stress. If everyone becomes mindful and start living in the present, the sorrows would vanish from the world. It’s definitely important to plan about the future but our present should be void of future worries, future fears and with no baggage of the past. Life will become extremely beautiful if we live in the present and that's what mindfulness does to us and the age of inculcating this is right from childhood.
healing on physical level or mental level, which I haven't experienced it myself. I transmit only those tips techniques which I have experienced myself. It’s evident that if u have suffered you can help people who are suffering. You can help them to heal. And another important thing is to never ever give up. I hadn’t even imagined in my wildest of the dreams about 6-7 years ago, that I would become what I am today, a life coach and would serve people. I have always firmly tackled my situations with my sanity which is there in my happy moments and never let anything impact the external conditions.
Me: Loved your outlook!! Ultimately, What is your goal? How do you see yourself in comparison to your past?
Me: It was a real pleasure having spoken to you. Thank you so much!!!
Dr.: My only goal is healing the women, and not only heal but teach them to heal themselves and their loved ones. I look into the achieving my goal through a beautiful facebook group I created called “Happy $ Healthy Women Community”. Healing and creating happiness to a lot of women in the period of 10 years has been a step towards my goal.
#For the readers, you can follow her fb page “Happy $ Healthy Women Community” to become a part of her tribe.
Me: How lucky your tribe is!!! As a young entrepreneur yourself, what message would you like to give to the upcoming doctors or entrepreneurs? Dr.: To all the doctors and the Entrepreneurs, I would like to say that sky is the limit. You should explore even if you don’t belong to that field. The most important aspect is experience because I feel if you experience, you can teach others. I have never, ever taught any technique to my clients let it be of

Mental Awareness
Megha Shah Counselor & Remedial Instructor Come on, lets start talking again!
People need people to talk to; they need people they can open their hearts to; people need people to hold hands and feel strong; they need people who can hold them and let them cry. I am not talking about a romanticized partner or a bollywoodised friend. I am not even talking about families or counsellors. I am just talking about people. Just anyone. We really do not realize how badly people need a release. I work with people and I work on myself. And I know how important conversations are. We, as a society, really have no idea how suffocated people are in their emotions. Most people have nobody to express themselves entirely to. Everyone is holding back their vulnerabilities to maintain the social image of a confident and happy person. Heart-to-heart conversations have become rare, artificial and shallow. And most hearts are filled with empty defences. Most people can't even talk to their life-partners openly for the fear of being judged or rejected. Emotions await just a release. Social images make sure
weakness is not glorified. Children have bottled up stress. Young people suffer anxiety and depression. It is just lack of social support. It is lack of non-judgmental friendships. It is result of fast and busy lives where nobody has time to just sit and watch someone cry. It is result of instant and impatient lifestyle practices, that emotions have started feeling like waste of time. We have whatsapp and facetime and social media - and we have stress and anxiety and depression. Our forefathers had neither. Because they talked to each other. Because talking helps. The face-to-face type talking, the just-listen-to-me type talking, the hold-my-hand-and-let-me-cry type talking, the sit-next-to-me-and-listen-to-my-silence type talking... the talking where the person can be themselves and say anything they feel without the fear of any judgement or loss or rejection. Today we don't like that type of talking. Those conversations when someone begins to undress one's mind, feel awkward. We don't ever want them. In fact we avoid them. And so, mental illness is epidemic. Naturally. There is not much we can do. But we can offer a listening. We can be the people someone can just come over and talk to. We can be the people someone can just cry in front of. We can help people free themselves from the prison of their own minds. Let's be the go-to person for someone. Let's learn to be friends with the friendless. Let's let people talk without any fear. Let's create conversations. Come on, let's start talking again. OCTOBER 2020 - 026
