Mystery plane wreckage identified

The final audited results of Friday's Regional Council and Local Authority Elections confirmed yesterday afternoon that the Swapo Party of Namibia won six of the seven Regional Council seats in Erongo, with runner-up, the United Democratic Front (UDF) 1 seat. Both the DTA of Namibia and RDP (Rally for Democracy and Progress), other hopeful contenders, were virtually wiped off the map.

In Swakopmund, Swapo received a total of 12 236 votes, DTA 4 474 and the RDP 1 547. In Walvis Bay Rural Constituency Swapo bolstered 7 674 votes and the DTA the only other party featuring with 1 569 votes.
