TheRhinoRugbySkills Academy (RRSA) in Swakopmund will play a significant role in transforming the lives of young rugby player and to develop future rugby stars. It will also equip young players with the life skills to manage their careers and its demands in a way that was clearly and so tragicallyabsent in the life This Academy will have the potential to break significant, newground and will help address our long-standing concern over the drop
off in player numbers between schools and professionalrugby The founders selected eight young players from WalvisBayschoolsand hope to induct more young players into the Academy Accordingto one of the co-founders of RRSA, Ngumee Nguaiko, the academy is committed to fostering young talent. He added that the training sessions will cater to different age groups, focusing on fundamentalskillssuch as agility, passing, tackling, and rucking.
“Overtheyearswehave realised that a young playermovingintoclub levelbutcan'tpassboth sides or a flanker that can't even tackle, his tackle technique is not proper Therefore, the Academy will provide young people with the opportunity to develop their own skills," he stated.Nguaikosaid,we have combined, developed a program c a l l e d R a i n e r PerformanceForgewith CrossFit Swakopmund, which is not just focused on the skill development but also

the conditioning as well. “Since CrossFit Swakopmund has linked up with VVFI which focus on CrossFit for rugby, to develop the players in conditioning them for rugby specifically So that they can build some extra muscle and be able to play not just 80 minutes but 110 minutes even. So that they can walk off the field not being even tired or without any injuries,” he added “Weneedthecorporate worldtocomeandhelp usdevelopourrugbyin our country We have decided, instead of just standingonthesideand seeing our rugby, havingadip, let'sstand together and build our rugby as a union,” Nguaikoconcluded.
