This is the latest aerial picture is of the new container terminal on reclaimed land in the port of Walvis Bay showing all pieces are in place and that operations are now full-steam ahead. Also find on page 4 pictures today of China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) packing up after the conclusion of this just over five years construction of the new container terminal on 40 hectares of reclaimed land. CHEC will however, retain a small staff complement locally for a two years contractual retention period. During this period any defects need to be corrected.

NHE houses falling apart Isaac Chikosi A single mother of Kuisebmond in Walvis Bay fears for her and her children's lives, as their NHE low cost house is literally falling apart and could collapse any time soon. What started as a small crack escalated into a gigantic gap where you can see through the wall and even the ceiling is tearing apart under structural stress. This is one example of many. Three Walvis Bay’ites selected for the Nambia RWC team Its off to Japan for three Walvis Bay’ites to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan! The announcement was made yesterday at 11:00 that Desiderius Sethie, Damien Stevens and Chad Plato were selected by the Namibia Rugby Union for the RWC national squad. All three players are former Kudus Rugby Club players with well established roots in the harbour town. These three deserve a standing ovation when on Saturday Namibia plays the Southern Kings in a final preparation game for the World Cup. They play the match on the stadium of Walvis Bay Private High School.
