Cash-in-transit robbery Robbers flee scene with N$60k robbed from security company Floris Steenkamp A group of armed robbers carried out a cash-in-transit robbery in Kuisebmond yesterday morning, getting away with approximately N$60 000. A security company arrived at the cash office of Erongo RED in Kuisebmond shortly after day open yesterday morning. The company was transporting cash that had to be delivered to Erongo RED’s customer care office in Nathaniël Maxuilili Avenue. Armed men approached the security vehicle and forced guards to hand over the money. They ran to their getaway vehicle and sped off.

A senior police source yesterday said contrary to rumours no shots were fired during the robbery. Erongo RED was yet to issue a statement on the incident at the time of going to press yesterday. Police investigators were following up leads yesterday that could lead to the arrest of the gang. Accident at Swakopmund Eileen van der Schyff Drama unfolded at the remote Möwe Bay over the weekend when three people were seriously injured in a vehicle accident. One of the injured were in a critical condition and that prompted the activation of a LifeLink's rescue mission through its “flying doctor service”. Continues on page 2
