Swakopmund psychiatrist Dr Pieter van der Westhuizen denies allegations he drugged and raped and indecently assaulted a patient in his practise in the holiday town on a Saturday in November 2015. The patient laid charges of rape, indecent assault and attempted murder against Dr van der Westhuizen. He also denies having tried to kill this patient by providing her with a potentially lethal dose of drugs. The trial against Dr van der Westhuizen continues in the Windhoek High Court. On the picture right: only hours after Namib Times reported on Friday 18 November 2016 that Dr van der Westhuizen was released on N$10 000 bail the previous day in the Swakopmund magistrate's court on the charges referred to above, the following picture emerged of him and a female friend in his social media circle.
