Human Rights Day commemorated in Walvis Bay today **Monday is not a public holiday The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare hosts a Human Rights Day commemoration in Walvis Bay today, as part of the national observance tomorrow, 10 December, of Human Rights Day. The ceremony is held at the Walvis Bay rural constituency office where the Governor of Erongo, Clr Kleopas Mutjavikua will deliver a keynote address on behalf of the Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Doreen Sioka. This will also be the first public engagement for the Mayor of Walvis Bay, Clr Immanuel Wilfred who was elected into office on Tuesday for a second term. The commemoration starts at 11:00 and ends at 13:00. In the meantime questions were directed by the public to namib times whether Monday would be a public holiday, as Human Rights Day is commemorated tomorrow, Saturday 10 December. Monday is not a public holiday, as Human Rights Day was on Saturday. The Monday is only a public holiday if the public holiday celebrated falls on a Sunday. It is thus back to work for all on Monday.
