The mine issued a short and to-the-point press release late yesterday afternoon and confirmed the incident. This statement notes that the emergency teams responded rapidly to bring Page 3 the situation under control. According to the mePhosphate dia statement, the affected employees were evacuated and the fire was extinguished. There were no injuries to employees, it was noted. The origin and cause of the

Last week namib times was contacted by a reader and informed about a strange phone call he had received - apparently from the NHE office, informing him about his application which he had handed in almost a year ago. “My phone was ringing but I could not answer at Page 36 that stage, because I was in a meeting. I sent the Happy Valen- caller a message from my cell phone to inform him tine's Day of my whereabouts,” he said. As per the picture, they started communicating via sms. Afterwards, our source phoned him back immediately. He had

been waiting for such a call since May last year, when he applied for a house loan at the National Housing Enterprise (NHE). “I phoned him and the person answered the phone. He said that he was from NHE. The guy confirmed every detail I have given on my application form, from my name, date of

birth, salary, identity number, everything.” After speaking for a while the caller who allegedly was from the NHE, said “I can speed up the process to get your application approved, but there are other people also involved that must help in this procedure, so, is it possible for Continues on page 2
