The purpose of the application is to allow the development of a Truck Port on the proposed Portion A. The Street (proposed Portion B) will provide access to the sitefromtheC14Road.

DUTIES
AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for the position of:
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (ASSISTANT)
- Collecting fish-, water-, swab- and various samples as per sampling plan;
- Ensure that samples are tested according to applicable/ established standards;
- Microbiological testing of water-, fish- and hygiene monitoring tests;
- Collecting various samples for the ISO 14001- and ISO 45001 systems;
- Conducting shelf life tests;
- Verification of equipment;
- Inventory of consumables, chemicals and equipment in laboratory;
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers;
- Recording and reporting results;
- Participate in internal- and customer audits
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST PREFERABLY: Possess the following experience and Qualifications:
· A Grade 12 qualification
· 3 Years tertiary qualification in the field of Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, Food Science or related Life Sciences.
· Knowledge of BRC-, IFS-, HACCP-, ISO 45001- and ISO 14001 systems
· Work experience in microbiological laboratory
· Fishing industry experience will be an added advantage
The incumbent must meet the following requirements:
· Strong interpersonal, communication and administration skills
· Ability to work under pressure
· Honest, efficient, assertive, self-motivated and able to use own initiative
· Must be willing to work overtime on short notice, over weekends or if production requires your assistance.
· Good work attendance record.
