Soil erosion is exposing an entire train which washed away at Usakos in 1940. The train has been buried for nearly six decades now near a modern railway bridge and two people who were children at the time at Usakos had a fascinating story to tell to Namib Times this week over this vintage train which is slowly but surely emerging from its sandy time capsule. Mr Pieter Gouws and Mrs Magriet Gouws who always wanted to know how the train ended up were kids during the time the train was washed where it was, buried under the sand at the railway away. Mrs Gouws remembers the story her bridge. father told her about a train that washed away at Mrs Gouws said her father, who used to work for the area where the train was discovered after so the Railways back then, told her that the train was transporting a certain sister Ivalda other nuns many years.
