The construction of a 40 hectare container terminal on reclaimed land on the southern end of the port of Walvis Bay is progressing on schedule. The construction work, carried out by China Harbour and Engineering Company (CHEC) is due for completion by October 2017, where after cargo handling equipment and other infrastructure would be installed. Simultaneously the current container terminal at the port of Walvis Bay’s berth one will relocate to the new terminal.
