Floris Steenkamp The Anti-Corruption Commission of Namibia (ACC) is currently probing more Walvis Bay town councillors for irregular spending on Council’s credit cards. The probe is targeting both current and former Walvis Bay town councillors. Sources very close to the administration revealed on Wednesday that the investigation into the misuse of a credit card by suspended town councillor Samson Nghilumbwa revealed more suspicious transactions, even by town councillors who have served on Council during previous political cycles. A veteran Swapo local authority politician this week added his voice with other Swapo politicians and welcomed the ACC’s involvement. He added the time has come to bring to the book corrupt members of the party who only use their Swapo credentials to serve their own individual needs, wants and positions. These members, he explained are eroding the values the party stands for and also undo efforts by Swapo members who are committed to serve their electorates humbly and honestly.
