Volgens ‘n bron was van Zyl onderweg na Windhoek toe die polisie hom in die omgewing van Usakos van die pad afgetrek het. Hy is kort daarna in hegtenis geneem en vir dronkbestuur aangekla. Die saak is Maandag uitgestel tot ‘n latere datum, hangende die uitslag van bloedtoetse.

An18-year-old faces a charge of reckless and negligent driving at Henties Bay, after he lost control of a vehicle and knocked over a four year old boy earlier this week. To make matters worse, the driver does not have a driving license and faces an additional charge of failure to produce a driving license upon request from an officer of the law. Police in Henties Bay arrested the man on the scene of the accident which took part in Henties Bay's Omdel suburb. According to police reports the pre-schooler was standing with his bicycle on the roadside when the car hit him. The little boy sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Swakopmund state hospital for medical treatment. The Erongo Business and Tourism Expo is in full swing. The Expo is presented at the Walvis Bay civic centre where products and services are on display from exhibitors from across Namibia and also from outside the country’s borders. The Expo was officially opened on Wednesday by the Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, Tjikera Tweya (MP). The Erongo Business and Tourism Expo is an event that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Apart from the exhibitions, delicious food and beverages are offered for sale, there is a kids action play area and many opportunities to sample products and services. Make sure not to miss this year’s Expo. The Expo concludes tomorrow (Saturday 2 November).
