Freak accident at car wash - boy dies

Eileen van der Schyff A seventeen-year-old boy was crushed by a vehicle against a wall in Swakopmund’s Mondesa suburb on Sunday afternoon, resulting in his death hours later at the town’s state hospital. Rashid Somseb was helping out at a car wash. A taxi driver brought his vehicle in for a clean. He was requested to drive the vehicle onto the wash bay. Somseb was standing in front of the vehicle giving directions. It is suspected the driver pressed down the vehicle’s accelerator instead of the brakes. The vehicle darted forward, hit Sombseb and pinned him to the wall behind him. Despite efforts by medical personnel they could not save Somseb’s life.
Four-year-old chokes - dies Sharlien Tjambari
A four-year-old girl died in the Walvis Bay state hospital early on Sunday morning, hours after she choked on a piece of meat at her parent's home the event before at around 21:00. Lonia Naloliwa Shihepo and her family were having dinner at their home in Kuisebmond's Kormorant Street when she choked on a piece of meat and it got stuck in her throat. The girl's parents rushed her to the state hospital, but despite efforts by medical staff the girl died.

Accidents An owner of an operator of a truck decided it fit over the weekend to drain his vehicle’s oil on an empty plot in the Lagoon area of Walvis Bay. The person went as far as also leaving the oil filter behind in the pool of oil.

Ignacia leads NUST assault

Herold Ipinge (29), Ian Harding (26) and Junior Immanuel (28) were arrested on 13 October this year, hours after they broke into a South African tourist’s vehicle which was parked near the Flamingo Villas hotel in Kovambo Nujoma Drive. The President's next stop was Geneva in Switzerland for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
