Nampol in the Erongo region have recovered another three cars and arrested two more suspects that are assumingly part of the syndicate involved in the theft of the 14 cars from Jan Japan Motors CC on Wednesday night. They are to appear in court today. The two suspects were apprehended between six and eight at night. One car was found in town, while the other two cars were discovered in Kuisebmond, along with the suspects. According to Nampol Detective Chief Inspector Erastus Iikuyu the suspects who were arrested last night are nót employed at Jan Japan Motors. He explained the syndi-
cate’s modus operandi. “Suspects are stealing the cars and hiding them in Kuisebmond to see if someone will notice that they are missing and sell the cars once they find out nobody realises that they are missing. But the theft scam was detected.” Iikuyu said that all the documents with which the cars are imported are original and if
someone manages to get their hands on the documents, together with the car keys before cars are logged in the system, they can easily register the cars with Natis and sell them.
